Champion Stats
Low elo players have no idea how to deal with Ivern's pathing. He can 'mark' a camp and smite it instantly, allowing for level 2 invades that take the enemy's buff in 2 seconds. They also don't respect Daisy's knockup or the massive shield plus slow from his Triggerseed (E). Most importantly, nobody in low elo focuses Daisy, letting her disrupt the entire backline for free.
The Friend of the Forest
Ivern has the most broken level 1 invade in the game. Start Q (Rootcaller). Immediately run to the enemy's top-side buff. Mark it, use Smite, and walk away with their buff at 1:35. You are now level 2, the enemy jungler is level 1, and their mental is already crumbling.
The level 1 buff steal is rude and effective. Smite their Red, Q over wall back to safety. It sets the enemy jungler behind instantly. You don't need a leash, so your laners can cheese too. Psychology is your weapon.
Ivern's Best Skins
'Old God Ivern' is the best skin for serious players—it makes him look intimidating and the VFX for his bushes and shield are harder to see in the chaos. 'Candy Ivern' is for the trolls—nothing tilts an enemy more than being beaten by a giant gingerbread man. 'Astronaut Ivern' has very clear sound cues for Daisy's knockup.
'Elderwood' makes you look like a creepy ancient tree, fitting. 'Dunkmaster' is pure BM; dribbling while shields save people is hilarious. 'Candy King' is disturbing. Elderwood is the most thematic.
When They Ban Ivern
There is no one like Ivern. But Nunu gives utility. Maokai gives sapling vision. Lulu supports the carry. If you want to jungle support, maybe try Morgana jungle or Taric jungle (niche).
Nunu & Willump for the high-mobility objective control. Maokai for the CC-heavy sapling vision. Lulu for the ultimate protection. Nunu is the closest 'support jungler who secures objectives' pivot.
Best Runes for Ivern
Summon Aery is the standard for max shield strength and poke. Font of Life + Revitalize for extra team healing and shield boost. Secondary Cosmic Insight + Future's Market to hit your support-item spikes fast.
Ivern's Skill Order
Max E first—it is your primary utility, providing a massive shield and a slow. Max Q second for the lower cooldown on your primary CC. W is maxed last as the bushes are primarily for vision control.
Mastering Ivern's Kit
Brushmaker. You create a patch of brush. Your autos deal bonus magic damage while inside or shortly after leaving. Use these to block vision for the enemy or to hide your team's movements.
Triggerseed. You shield an ally (or Daisy). After a delay, the shield explodes, damaging and slowing nearby enemies. This is your most important ability—the 70% slow is massive.
Daisy! You summon a sentinel. She persists for 60 seconds and her third hit on the same target knocks up. She inherits your stats and procs your item effects.
Ivern's Best & Worst Matchups
Easy Lane. You can root him mid-dash. Your E absorbs his Q2 damage. He can't 1v1 you if Daisy is up. Just track him to prevent him from snowballing other lanes.
Hard Counter. He can't be slowed during his R, which makes your E explosion half as effective. Daisy is just a target for him to stack his passive.
Skill Matchup. You can root him in his flag-and-drag. Daisy can fight inside his Cataclysm. Use your bushes to hide your team's position.
Daisy Mismanagement
Stop summoning Daisy into a full team without a target. She is a disruption tool, but she can be killed. Use your E on Daisy to keep her alive and apply slows. Also, don't forget that your bushes (W) can HIDE objectives from the enemy. If you're doing Dragon, put bushes on it.
Daisy is a champion. Control her with Alt-Click. Use her to tank tower shots. Use her to block skillshots (like Nidalee spears). If you let her die for free, your ult is wasted. She regenerates health out of combat—pull her back!
When the Matchup Is Unplayable
Dodge if facing Rengar or Kha'Zix. Rengar will use your own bushes against you. Kha'Zix will isolate you and kill you before you can react. Also dodge into heavy-burst teams that can one-shot your carry through your shield.
The Vision Setup
Stay in the backline. Keep your E shield on your primary carry or your engager. Use Q to catch priority targets. Most importantly, MICRO DAISY. Use Alt+Right Click to move her onto the enemy ADC or Mage. Her third hit knocks up—time it well.
Use W to create bushes in the river pixel brush. It forces enemies to facecheck. Place bushes on top of epic monsters to hide their HP bar. Vision denial is as good as vision.
Stay in the backline. Keep your E shield on your carry. Micro Daisy with Alt+Right Click to knock up targets. Use W to create bushes in pixel brushes to deny enemy vision. You are the map's gardener.
The Support Jungle Build
Full AP Ivern. Night Harvester -> Shadowflame -> Rabadon's. Your E shield becomes a 1000 HP barrier that explodes for 800 damage. Daisy becomes a raid boss that one-shots squishies with her autos. High risk but hilarious.
Moonstone into Redemption. You are the second support. If you're 5/0, go for Imperial Mandate. Avoid building pure AP—you need the haste to keep the shields and Daisy up. Tree power is in the utility.
Moonstone Renewer into Redemption. You are effectively a second support. If you are snowballing, go Night Harvester -> Shadowflame for the 'AP Ivern' meme build where Daisy one-shots people. Moonstone is consistently better.
Ivern's Power Spikes
Level 2 after a buff-steal is your first window to gank and snowball. Level 6 is your biggest spike—Daisy is a game-changer in early skirmishes. Once you have Moonstone Renewer or Shurelya's, your team's utility is unmatched.
Level 6 with Daisy. Moonstone completion. Level 11 for Rank 2 Daisy. You don't 'spike' in damage, you spike in annoyance. The longer the game goes, the thicker your shields get.
Level 2 with a buff-steal is your first cheese window. Level 6 is your biggest spike—Daisy changes the game. Moonstone completion makes your shields unbreakably thick. You spike on utility, not damage.
The Daisy Engage
Mastery 7 spam every time Daisy knocks someone up. Type 'thanks for the buff' in all-chat after your level 1 steal. Dance in your own bushes while the enemy jungler tries to find you. Nothing is more frustrating than a pacfist tree winning the game.
Send Daisy in first. Shield HER. She slows with the shield pop. Then Q the slowed target. Daisy dashes to rooted targets. It's a combo. Let the rock-girl do the work.
Spam Mastery 7 every time Daisy knocks someone up. Type 'thanks for the buff' in all-chat after a level 1 steal. Dance in your bushes. Nothing tilts an enemy jungler more than being out-jungled by a pacifist tree.
