Champion Stats
Low elo players do not respect the 'Poly-Lock'. They rush in with champions like Katarina or Yi, expecting to reset, only to be turned into a squirrel instantly. A smurf holds Polymorph exclusively for these key engage moments, denying the enemy's entire game plan. Furthermore, they underestimate the bait potential of Wild Growth (R); a smurf lets their ADC get dangerously low to bait the enemy team in, then presses R to knock everyone up and heal the carry, turning the fight instantly.
The Polymorph Trade
The 'Pix' Trade. Start E (Help, Pix!). At Level 1, your auto-attacks hurt significantly more than other supports because of Pix's passive bolts. Walk up, E the enemy ADC (dealing damage and guaranteeing Pix hits), and Auto-Attack. They cannot out-trade the shield + damage combo. Repeat this until they are zoned off the wave.
Your Pix stays on the target you cast E on. If you E an enemy, Pix will attack them even if you auto-attack someone else. Use this to harass both the ADC and Support simultaneously. It's the 'Master support' secret.
The Lulu Skin Tier List
'Pool Party Lulu' is the classic smurf skin—the 'squid' polymorph is iconic. 'Pajama Guardian Lulu' is a high-tier 'cute' choice. 'Space Groove Lulu' offers amazing modern effects. Avoid 'Bittersweet Lulu' as it's notoriously 'creepy' for some players.
'Winter Wonder' has a very distinct W visual that is easier to spot in a chaotic river fight. Use it to ensure your ADC knows they have the speed buff.
'Pool Party' for the bloop sounds. 'Pajama Guardian' for cute factor. 'Space Groove' for wobbly VFX. 'Winter Wonder' for the Poro. Pool Party tilts people the most.
When They Ban Lulu
Janna peels with tornado. Yuumi sits on the carry. Milio provides range and cleanse. Janna is the best alternative for denying divers.
Janna for peel. Yuumi for buffs. Nami for lane pressure. Janna matches the 'Get off my carry' energy perfectly.
Runes That Work on Lulu
Summon Aery is the best choice for both shielding and poke. Guardian is an alternative if facing heavy kill-lanes. Secondary Inspiration with Magical Footwear and Cosmic Insight to reach your core items faster.
Leveling Lulu's Abilities
Max E first—it's your primary shield and trading tool. Max W second for the lower cooldown and longer duration on Polymorph. Max Q last as the slow is sufficient with one point.
Mastering Lulu's Kit
Glitterlance. Lulu and Pix each fire a bolt that deals magic damage and slows enemies hit. Use this to catch fleeing targets or poke from range.
Whimsy. Cast on Ally: Grants movement and attack speed. Cast on Enemy: Turns them into a harmless creature, silencing and disarming them. This is your core defensive tool.
Wild Growth. Lulu enlarges an ally, knocking up nearby enemies and granting the ally a massive amount of bonus health and a slow aura. Use this to save a life or follow up an engage.
Matchups That Matter for Lulu
Easy Matchup. The moment he ults your carry, wait for him to appear, then Polymorph him instantly. He will be unable to use his combo and will die before the CC ends.
Skill Matchup. You can shield his burst and Polymorph his engage, but if he pulls you, you're in trouble. Save your R for whoever he tries to execute.
Hard Matchup. She can out-range you and her root is dangerous. You have to play safely and save your E for her poke, or your R for whoever she catches in a bind.
Whimsy Timing
Stop spamming W for movement speed! Whimsy (W) is your most powerful tool. Using it to run back to lane slightly faster is a waste. Save it for Polymorphing the inevitable Zed or Master Yi dive. Unless your ADC is chasing the final kill of a Pentakill, keep Polymorph ready for defense. Also, don't overlap your CC; wait for the enemy to land from your R knockup before Polymorphing them.
Don't waste W on your ADC for move speed unless they're chasing a kill. Polymorph is too valuable. Turning the 10/0 Master Yi into a cupcake is how you win the game. Space your E and R—shield first, then Ult if they're still in danger. Timing is everything.
When Your ADC Is Doomed
Dodge if facing heavy 'siege' or 'artillery' comps with Xerath or Vel'Koz if your team has no way to engage. They can out-range your shields. Also dodge into Soraka who can out-sustain your poke.
Xerath and Vel'Koz are your counters. They'll poke your ADC down while you're too far away to help. If you see them, buy early boots and roam. You're better off helping your Jungler than sitting under tower with a dead ADC.
Dodge Xerath/Brand. They poke you and your ADC out. You can't shield poke forever. Also Soraka—she heals more than you shield.
Peel or Engage?
In teamfights, your only job is the carry. Stick to them like glue. Use your E to shield them, your W to Polymorph whoever dives them, and your R to save them from death and provide follow-up CC. If your carry is safe, use your Q to slow enemies and help with the chase.
Lulu is the ultimate peel goddess. If an assassin dives your ADC, R immediately. The knockup and bonus HP usually buy enough time for the ADC to finish them off. Then Polymorph the next threat. You are the director of the ADC's survival.
The Enchanter Build
Full AP 'Machine-Gun' Lulu. Nashor's Tooth -> Wit's End -> Kraken Slayer. With this build and Pix's passive, your auto-attacks deal massive magic damage. It's hilarious to see a 'support' Lulu shred through tanks and towers. High-risk, maximum BM.
Moonstone is the standard, but Shurelya's is better for the repositioning. Ardent Censer is mandatory if your ADC is an auto-attacker. If you're 5/0, go for Lich Bane and Nashor's just to show them that Pix deals damage too. One-shot Pix is real.
Lulu's Strongest Moments
Level 1-4 is your strongest lane dominance window. Level 6 is your primary life-saving spike. Your biggest item spike is reaching Ardent Censer, which makes your ADC a machine-gun of destruction.
Level 1-3 is where you win the lane with Pix-poke. Level 6 is your insurance policy. Lulu is consistent through the game, but her effectiveness depends 100% on her ADC's brain cells. Pick your carry wisely.
Level 2-3 Polymorph/Shield trades. Level 6 Anti-Assassin R. Ardent Censer completion. You are strong whenever your ADC is strong.
The Polymorph Shutdown
Spam the 'laugh' emote—it's one of the most annoying sounds in the game. Type 'That tasted purple!' in all-chat after a successful kill. The sight of a giant enemy Zed being turned into a squirrel and dying is purely tilting.
Type 'Tasted like purple!' after every Polymorph kill. Spam the Lulu laugh—it's the second most annoying sound in the game after Lux. Turning a massive raid boss into a tiny squirrel is the ultimate flex.
Spam Laugh (Ctrl+4). It's annoying. Type 'Tasted purple!' after Polymorphing a Zed. Turning a scary assassin into a squirrel ruins their montage.
