Champion Stats
Low elo players have terrible object permanence. If they can't see you, they assume you aren't there. This allows Twitch to walk right up to them in stealth (Q) and open fire. They also clump up for objectives, offering perfect multi-hit angles for your piercing R bolts. Additionally, they rarely buy Control Wards to place in the lane, meaning your stealth is effectively true invisibility. A smurf Twitch abuses this to turn bot lane into a slaughterhouse.
The Stealth Cheese
The 'Level 1 Mid Gank'. Start E (Contamination). Instead of going to lane, walk invisible (after skilling Q Level 2? No, Level 1 cheese involves stealth... wait, you need Q for stealth. Okay, real cheese: Start E, hide in the middle bush. Wait for them to walk past. Auto-Auto-Auto-E. They lose 70% HP. OR, taking Q level 1 to cheese mid is a viable 'rat' strategy if you want to tilt the enemy mid laner immediately.
Red Buff -> Mid Gank Level 2. Invisible. They don't expect it. Auto-Auto-E-Ignite. First blood.
Ranking Twitch's Skins
'Crime City Twitch' is the classic smurf skin—the animations and the 'mafia' feel are iconic. 'Shadowfoot Twitch' is a great modern choice with unique effects. 'Kingpin Twitch' is a rare flex for long-time players. Avoid 'Vandal Twitch' as it feels clunky compared to the newer options.
'Crime City' for the classic rat. 'High Noon' for the cowboy. 'Shadowfoot' for the cute (but deadly) mouse. 'Medieval' for the flex. Twitch is a pest—pick the outfit that makes them itch.
'Crime City' (Gangster) is the classic. 'High Noon' is new and good. 'Omega Squad' is tactical. Gangster Twitch holding the tommy gun is iconic.
When They Ban Twitch
If Twitch is gone, Vayne is the closest 'sneaky-hyper-carry' alternative. If you want more range, Kog'Maw. But nothing replaces the 'I was hiding!' moment. Sneak.
Kog'Maw for the range. Vayne for the stealth. Jinx for the resets. Kog'Maw is the other 'protect me and I carry' hyper carry.
Twitch's Keystone Choice
Press the Attack is the best for that single-target 'pop-out' burst. Lethal Tempo is the alternative for higher late-game DPS. Secondary Domination with Sudden Impact and Relentless Hunter to move faster while in stealth.
Skill Max Order for Twitch
Max E first—it's your primary damage and execute tool. Max Q second for the increased stealth duration and attack speed bonus. Max W last as the slow is primarily for utility and stacking poison.
Mastering Twitch's Kit
Ambush. You become camouflaged and gain movement speed. Attacking gives you a burst of attack speed. It resets on kills. This is your primary playmaking tool.
Venom Cask. You throw a cask that slows enemies and applies stacks of poison. Use this to set up your E or to zone enemies.
Contamination. You deal magic damage to all nearby enemies based on their poison stacks. This is your primary source of burst and your execution tool.
Spray and Pray. You gain massive range and AD, and your attacks pierce through enemies. This is your game-winner. Position carefully to maximize the pierce damage.
The Twitch Matchup Sheet
Skill Matchup. You win the teamfight, she wins the 1v1. If you can catch her by surprise with your R range, you can burst her before she can react. Don't let her condemn you into a wall.
Hard Matchup. He has much higher early damage and can punish you for walking up. You have to wait for jungle help or until you have your 1-item spike.
Hard Counter. His Windwall (W) completely invalidates your R and your E. If he times it right, you are useless during your only window of power.
Ambush Overcommit
You are made of paper. If you open from stealth while standing next to a Leona, you will die instantly. You must open from MAX range, preferably when the enemy sees someone else. Patience is key. Also, stop pressing E too early! E is an execute. Using it at 5 stacks on a full HP target is a waste. Wait until they are running away or low enough to die. Greeding for damage numbers instead of kill security loses games.
When You Can't Auto Safely
Dodge if facing heavy 'revealing' comps with Lee Sin, Rengar, or Nidalee if you aren't confident. They can find you in stealth and one-shot you. Also dodge into Yasuo or Samira who can block your entire R duration.
Control Wards disable you. Rengar sees you. Sweepers shape you. Wait for them to use cooldowns.
Dodge Rengar/Nocturne. They find you. They kill you. You have no self-peel. If your support is bad, you don't get to play.
The DPS Check
In teamfights, you are the ultimate 'janitor'. Stay in stealth, wait for the engagement to start, and then position yourself to hit as many enemies as possible with your R (Spray and Pray). Use your Q reset (it resets on kills/assists) to reposition and continue the slaughter. You are a rat; be sneaky and strike when it hurts most.
R gives infinite range. Hits multiple people. Align yourself to hit the backline through the frontline. Melting 5 people at once is the dream.
The AP Twitch Build
Full AP 'Rat-Bomb' Twitch. Nashor's Tooth -> Shadowflame -> Rabadon's Deathcap. With this build, your passive True Damage and your E execute will literally one-shot people. It's the ultimate 'tilt' build for carrying games where the enemy builds armor.
Nashor's into Rabadon's. Your passive burn and E execute deal massive AP damage. It's the ultimate 'sneaky' carry. One W in a teamfight and your E will one-shot the backline. Deliciously toxic. Rat.
Nashor's -> Rabadon's -> Zhonya's. True damage passive scales with AP. Slow is massive. Crown for safety. It's annoying and viable.
When Twitch Comes Online
Level 6 is your first major spike—Spray and Pray gives you the range and damage to win almost any 2v2 or 5v5. Your biggest item spike is Blade of the Ruined King or Hurricane, giving you the stickiness and AoE to dominate the mid-game.
BORK spike. Runaan's spike. IE spike. Level 6 R range. You need items to function.
Level 6 Spray and Pray. BORK Spikes. 3 Items. You are an assassin-ADC. Open from stealth and delete them.
The Spray and Pray
Type 'I was hiding!' in all-chat every time you kill someone from stealth. Using the 'laugh' emote while you are in stealth and near an enemy is peak BM. The feeling of paranoia the enemy team gets when you are off the map is your greatest weapon.
Open from stealth. R immediately. W for slow. Auto-Auto-E execute. Glide. Spaceglider 9000.
Q Stealth. Walk behind them. R-W-Auto-Auto-E. They die before they realize you are there. 'Hello!' emote is mandatory.
