Why High-Elo Players Smurf with Milio
Low elo players rely entirely on hard CC engage to win teamfights. Amumu ults, Malphite ults, Ashe arrows—these are the bread and butter of low elo teamfighting. Milio presses R (Breath of Life) and instantly cleanses his entire team, deleting their engage. They also fundamentally don't respect the attack range advantage that Cozy Campfire provides. Your ADC can auto-attack the enemy from completely outside their retaliation range, slowly chipping away at towers and champions with zero counterplay. A smurf uses this to suffocate the enemy team through superior positioning and relentless poke.
The Level 1 Cheese
First Blood Strategy
Start Q (Ultra Mega Fire Kick) for level 1 disengage or E (Warm Hugs) for a safer shielded leash. Milio's Level 1 isn't particularly threatening—you're an enchanter, after all—but you can interrupt jump-in champions like Zac, Lee Sin, or Leona with a well-timed Q if they try to engage. Use your passive-empowered auto-attacks (Fired Up!) to poke when safe, as they deal bonus damage and apply a burn. Generally, just chill and scale. Your power spike is Level 6 and first item, not Level 1.
The 'Pay-to-Win' Skin Advantage
'Faerie Court Milio' is the release skin. It's cute. Default is great too. Not many skins yet.
When They Ban Milio
Backup Pick: If Milio is banned,
Lulu for the protection.
Janna for the disengage.
Soraka for the raw healing.
Rune Setup
Best Runes: Summoner Aery (Shielding/Poke). Manaflow Band, Transcendence, Scorch. Secondary Resolve (Revitalize) is huge for his healing/shielding.
Skill Priority
Order:
E → W → QMax E for shield up-time. Max W second for range/healing. Q last.
Mastering Milio's Kit
Ultra Mega Fire Kick. Kicks a fireball. Knocks back first enemy. Bounces behind them (AOE slow/damage). Disengage tool.
Cozy Campfire. Creates a zone that follows an ally. Heals and INCREASES ATTACK RANGE. The broken part of his kit.
Warm Hugs. Shields an ally. Grants Speed. Holds 2 charges.
Breath of Life. AOE Cleanse (removes CC) + Heal. Tenacity bonus. Use to counter hard CC.
Matchup Tips
Hard. Stay behind minions. Kick him if he runs at you.
Skill. Q his Q (can you? no). Q his E flay attempt. Stay back.
Vs Engage Tanks
Easy. You counter them with Q and R.
The Ego Check
WARNING: Stop saving R for yourself! Breath of Life (R) is an AOE Cleanse that removes all CC from allies plus provides a heal and tenacity bonus. This is one of the most powerful ultimates in the enchanter class—use it on your CARRY when they get CC'd, not on yourself to heal 200 HP. It's a game-changing cooldown that can completely neutralize the enemy's engage. If Amumu ults your team, you press R and his ultimate did literally nothing. Also, position BEHIND your ADC at all times, not in front. You are not the tank. You enable the carry; let them be in front receiving the attention while you buff them from safety.
When to Queue Dodge
Dodge Blitzcrank or Pyke. If you get hooked, you die. Your R doesn't stop you from being pulled (unless timed perfectly?). Cleanse doesn't stop displacement.
Teamfight Role
In teamfights, press W on your ADC. Shield them with E. Kick (Q) anyone who tries to jump on them. If the enemy lands a big CC (Amumu ult), press R instantly. You turn their game-winning engage into a wasted cooldown.
The 'Disrespect' Build
Full AP Milio. Luden's -> Rabadon's. Your Q actually has decent scaling. Funny but not recommended for serious smurfing. Stick to Shurelya's/Moonstone.
Power Windows
Level 6 (Cleanse unlock). Moonstone Renewer purchase. Late game range extension.
Tilt Factor
Spamming the soccer emotes. Cleansing a Malzahar R instantly makes him rage. 'Goal!' voice lines.
