Champion Stats
Deep vision is effectively non-existent in low elo. Players ward the river bush and think they are safe. Zac's Elastic Slingshot (E) bypasses these common ward spots entirely. You can gank Mid from the enemy Raptors, or gank Bot from the Tribush wall. Furthermore, his Passive (Cell Division) acts as the ultimate bait tool. Smurfs use this to dive towers recklessly, absorb all the tower shots, turn into blobs, and let their teammates clean up the kills while the tower de-aggros.
The Blob Engage
The 'Late Invade' or 'Full Clear'. Zac is weak Level 1 but has a unique cheese: Start Q (Stretching Strikes). Invade the enemy buff with your team. Q the enemy jungler, then auto-attack a minion/monster/ward. This slams them together, CCing them. It's a disjointing CC that often causes panic flashes. Otherwise, prefer a full clear to hit Level 4 ASAP for Rank 2 E range.
Your E range is insane at max rank. You can gank from your own jungle. Launch yourself and land the knockup. Then Q-slam them together. You're the ultimate engage tank. Do it for the blobs! Squisy victory.
When They Ban Zac
If Zac is gone, Sejuani is the best 'long-range-engage' pivot. If you want more blobs, maybe Malphite (but he's just one big blob of rock). Accept no substitutes for the snot-king.
Sejuani for the tank CC. Amumu for the AOE R. Malphite for the engage. Sejuani is the disruption tank alternative.
Zac's Ability Priority
Max E first is NON-NEGOTIABLE. The range increase per rank is the most broken stat on his kit. Rank 1 E is a hop; Rank 5 E is a cross-map flight. Max W second for the % Max HP damage and clear speed. Q is a one-point wonder for utility.
Mastering Zac's Kit
Stretching Strikes. The slap. Hit Target A (Skillshot) -> Auto Attack Target B. They get pulled together and knocked up.
Unstable Matter. AoE explosion around you. Deals % Max HP damage. Picking up a blob reduces its CD by 1s.
Elastic Slingshot. Charge up to increase range. Launch yourself. Knock up and damage enemies in the landing zone.
Let's Bounce! Compress down and bounce 4 times. Knock back and slow enemies. Generates blobs. You can move while bouncing.
Zac's Lane Opponents
Danger. He invades you early. Try to path opposite to him. If he goes Rhaast (Red), he melts you.
Skill. If he kills you, he possesses you and heals off your blobs. Don't let him reset.
Annoying. She runs circles around you and sleeps you mid-jump. Hard to hit E.
Kayn invades. Trundle melts. Poppy stops jump. Pick Zac when they lack disruption.
Vs Kayn: Hard. Rhaast melts you. Invades you. Unplayable. Vs Viego: Skill. Don't let him reset. CC him before he possesses.
Slingshot Overcommit
Pick. Up. Your. Blobs. Every blob you pick up heals you for a percentage of your Max HP and reduces your W cooldown. If you ignore blobs, you are playing at 50% efficiency. Also, stop engaging when your passive is down if you don't have to. The revive is your safety net. Without it, you are just a big green gummy bear that dies to focus fire. LAND YOUR E. If you miss E, you look stupid and you die.
When the Frontline Crumbles
Dodge Thresh. His Flay (E) can knock you out of your E jump mid-air easily. Dodge Janna. Her Tornado (Q) and Ult (R) completely negate your engage. Dodge Poppy. Her W stops your jump and stuns you. Hard counter.
Thresh E. Janna Q. Draven E. If they can stop your E mid-air, you are useless.
Dodge Thresh/Janna/Poppy. They stop your E mid-air. You land on nothing. You die. You look stupid. Don't pick Zac into disengage.
Soaking Damage for the Team
Charge your E from the shadows (FOW). Launch yourself onto the enemy ADC or Mage. Mid-air, spam W. Upon landing, immediately Q a target and auto-attack another to slam them together. Then press R (Let's Bounce) to disrupt the entire team and generate massive blobs. You are the chaos engine; the more you disrupt, the easier it is for your team to wipe them.
Your passive 'Cell Division' is your second life. If you're dying, die in the middle of your team so they can protect the blobs. Picking up blobs reduces your cooldowns—keep moving! Squisy master.
The AP Zac Build
AP Bruiser Zac (The 'One-Shot Blob'). Riftmaker -> Liandry's Torment -> Spirit Visage. Your W deals % Max HP magic damage, and your E/R have decent AP ratios. With this build, you jump on an ADC and they literally explode before they hit the ground. You heal back to full HP with Riftmaker + Blobs.
Dark Seal into Riftmaker. Your W deals % Max HP damage. You'll melt the tanks while being tanky yourself. It's the 'raid boss' Zac build. Add a Liandry's for the extra burn. Blob-power! Squisy.
Timing Zac's All-Ins
Level 4 (Rank 2 E - Gank paths open up). Level 9 (Max E range - You are everywhere). Zac scales incredibly well into late game as a tank.
E from fog. Charge it fully. Land on 3 people. R bounce. W spam. You are a green disruption ball.
Level 4 (E range increases). Level 9 (Max E range). E from fog is the deadliest gank in the game. They can't ward everything.
The Elastic Slingshot
Buying a 'Suit' chroma (Battlecast/Pool Party) and roleplaying as a businessman. Spamming the blob emote while in passive. Camping the same lane 3 times in a row from 3 different angles—it psychological breaks them because they feel nowhere is safe.
Practice the jumps from the fog of war. They won't see the indicator until it's too late. Typing 'Suit up!' after a successful gank. You're a business-blob—close the deal. Squisy and professional.
Jump from creative angles. Raptor pit to Mid. Tribrush to Bot. Be where they don't expect. Spam 'Blob' emote. Be a nuisance.
