The Permafrost Proc

First Blood Strategy

The 'Melee Stack' Invade. Sejuani's E passive allows ANY melee ally to apply frost stacks. If you invade with a Sylas, Yone, or Braum, you effectively have a point-and-click stun at level 1. Start Q (Arctic Assault) for the knockup/gap close. Dash over the dragon/baron pit wall or the mid-lane ledge. Knock them up, let your team auto, then E for the stun. It is a guaranteed flash burn or first blood.

Melee allies stack your E. Renekton/Sylas/Yone/Braum are your best friends. Gank their lanes. It's free stuns. Don't gank for a mage unless you have R.

When They Ban Sejuani

Backup Picks

If Sejuani is banned, Zac offers similar engage angles. Amumu offers the 'press R to win teamfight' utility. Gragas offers the CC/Tank hybrid playstyle.

If Sejuani is gone, Amumu is your best backup for that 'big AOE ultimate' feel. If you want more early pressure, Gragas. But nothing beats the feeling of riding a giant boar into battle. Accept no substitutes.

Zac for the elastic slingshot. Amumu for the curse. Gragas for the bodyslam. Amumu is the easier teamfight tank.

What to Max on Sejuani

W Q E

Max W first for the clearing speed and massive % HP physical damage. Max Q second for the cooldown reduction on your mobility tool. Max E last, as the stun duration is static (check patch, usually scales slightly but Q mobility is better).

Mastering Sejuani's Kit

Q
Arctic Assault

Arctic Assault. Dash that knocks up the first enemy hit. Goes over most walls. crucial for creative gank paths.

W
Winter's Wrath

Winter's Wrath. Two-part flail strike. First hit deals damage, second hit slows and deals massive physical damage. Moves Sejuani slightly.

E
Permafrost

Permafrost. Passive: Autos/Abilities apply Frost. Active: Stuns a target with 4 stacks. Deals massive magic damage on shatter.

R
Glacial Prison

Glacial Prison. Throws a True Ice bola. Stuns the first champion hit. Creates a slowing storm. The stun duration is longer at max range.

Who Sejuani Beats (And Who Beats Sejuani)

Vs Master Yi Hard

Hard. He ignores your slows with Highlander. You must hit R or E to stop him, but he can Alpha Strike (Q) to dodge. Ban worthy.

Vs Olaf Hard

Impossible. He ignores ALL your CC with Ragnarok. Run away.

Vs Sylas Skill

Annoying. He steals your Ultimate and uses it better than you because he has AP ratios. Don't give him a good angle.

Master Yi is a problem because he can't be slowed (Highlander). You need to chain CC him perfectly or he runs you down. Olaf ignores everything.

Ult Whiff Syndrome

WARNING

Stop overlapping CC! If you hit a massive R stun, DO NOT press E immediately. Wait for the R stun to almost expire, auto-attack to reset the timer, then use E (or vice versa, though R usually locks E). Hitting a target with R prevents E stacks for a duration. Learn your combos. Also, stop engaging 1v5 when your passive is down. You are paper without your Ice Armor.

Don't overlap your R and E. R freezes the target and prevents E stacks for a few seconds. Use R to start the fight, then W-E once the target recovers. Or vice-versa. CC-chaining is an art—be the artist.

When CC Isn't Enough

Dodge Trundle. He steals your stats with Subjugate (R) and turns you into a negative-armor minion. You cannot fight him. Dodge Vayne. % Max HP True damage ignores your passive completely.

Trundle steals your stats. Vayne deals true damage. Fiora deals true damage. Against these, you are paper. Buy Anathema's Chains for the carry.

Dodge Trundle. He steals your stats. You become squishy. Dodge Vayne. True damage ignores your passive armor. Unplayable.

The Frontline Anchor

You are the initiator. Look for a long-range R (Glacial Prison) to catch a squishy target out of position. If you miss, do not commit suicide. Peel back. In the thick of the fight, focus on hitting W on multiple targets and let your melee carries stack your E. Your goal is to proc Permafrost on the diver to peel your ADC, or on the enemy carry to secure the kill. Be the wall.

Your passive 'Fury of the North' grants you massive Armor/MR and slow immunity. Use it to lead the charge. If they hit you, you just shrug it off. Once the passive is down, play a bit more careful. You're a tank with a brain.

The Frostfire Build

Full AP Assassin Sejuani (Mid/Jungle). Rocketbelt -> Stormsurge -> Rabadon's Deathcap. Your R has a massive AP ratio. Q-R-W-E instantly deletes any squishy champion from 100-0. It is hilarious and viable if you are significantly better than your opponents.

Full AP Sejuani is the ultimate 'low-elo' sleeper. Your R into W-E will one-shot any ADC. Build Liandry's for the burn and Stormsurge for the burst. It's a cold-hearted playstyle that works. Freeze them out.

Sunfire -> Warmog's -> Thornmail. You need HP. Warmog's lets you siege and re-engage. Passive armor makes HP incredibly valuable.

When Sejuani Hits Hardest

Level 3 (Gank window). Level 6 (Ult unlock - massive kill pressure). Warmog's Armor Completion (Infinite sustain & Dive pressure).

Level 6: R is a long-range stun. Warmog's: You never have to recall. Aftershock: You are unkillable for 3 seconds.

Level 3 Gank. Level 6 Boleadoras. Warmog's Spike. You are stronger when you have a melee mid/top to stack your E.

The Glacial Prison

Freezing the enemy jungler's camp and stealing it in front of them using Smite + E execute massive damage. Dancing (riding the boar) on their corpse. Typing 'Cool off' after a solo kill.

Your R is a long-range nuke. If it hits, it creates a massive slow field. Use it to zone the enemy team away from an objective. You are the queen of the Freljord—bring the winter to them.

Snipe the enemy carry with R. Q-Flash to follow up. Perma-stun them. Type 'Cool down' in chat. Make them buy Merc Treads.
