Morgana ARAM Build — Black Shield Queen of the Bridge
Morgana in ARAM is a CC machine with a get-out-of-jail-free card. Her Q root lasts 3 seconds, her W zones entire areas, and her E Black Shield makes your carries immune to CC. Here's how to dominate.
Morgana in ARAM is one of the most frustrating champions to play against. Her Q (Dark Binding) is a 3-second root that feels like an eternity. Her W (Tormented Shadow) zones the entire bridge. And her E (Black Shield) makes your carries immune to CC, which completely shuts down engage-heavy comps.
Her win rate in ARAM consistently sits above 52%. The narrow bridge makes her Q almost impossible to dodge, and constant teamfights mean her W is always hitting multiple targets. She's a control mage who dictates the pace of every fight.
Best Morgana ARAM Runes
Primary: Domination
Dark Harvest — Morgana's W applies Dark Harvest to everyone standing in it. You'll stack it fast in constant teamfights, and the bonus damage on low-HP targets helps you finish kills.
Cheap Shot — Your Q roots, which procs Cheap Shot for bonus true damage. Free damage on every binding.
Eyeball Collection — Free AP from takedowns. You'll max this out fast.
Ultimate Hunter — Lower R cooldown means more teamfight-winning ults. Morgana's ult is her engage tool.
Secondary: Sorcery
Manaflow Band — Morgana is mana-hungry. Manaflow Band gives you permanent mana and mana regen.
Scorch — Extra burn damage on your W. Small but adds up over time.
Why not Glacial Augment? Glacial is fine for support Morgana, but Dark Harvest scales harder in ARAM. You're not peeling for an ADC — you're dealing damage and controlling teamfights. Dark Harvest gives you kill pressure.
Best Morgana ARAM Items
Core Build (in order)
Liandry's Anguish — Morgana's W applies Liandry's burn to everyone standing in it. The burn stacks with your W damage for massive sustained damage. This is your core item.
Sorcerer's Shoes — Magic penetration boots. More damage on every ability.
Zhonya's Hourglass — This is mandatory. Morgana's ult requires you to stay near enemies for 2 seconds. Zhonya's lets you ult, then go invulnerable while the stun procs. It's basically a guaranteed 5-man stun.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter — Your W slows everyone standing in it. Rylai's turns Morgana into a perma-slow machine that nobody can escape.
Situational 5th & 6th Items
Void Staff — If they're stacking magic resist. 40% magic penetration makes your damage relevant again.
Morellonomicon — If they have heavy healing. Your W applies Grievous Wounds to everyone standing in it.
Shadowflame — If they're stacking HP but not magic resist. The magic penetration helps you burst squishies.
Banshee's Veil — Against heavy CC comps. The spell shield lets you survive one engage tool.
Don't skip Zhonya's Hourglass. Zhonya's is mandatory on Morgana in ARAM. Your ult requires you to stay near enemies, which means you're in danger. Zhonya's lets you ult and go invulnerable, guaranteeing the stun procs.
Ability Order
Max W first (Tormented Shadow), then Q (Dark Binding), then E (Black Shield). Take R at 6, 11, 16.
W is your primary damage and waveclear. In ARAM, enemies are grouped, so your W hits multiple targets. The %HP damage melts tanks.
Q second for the root duration. The root duration scales with rank, so maxing Q gives you longer CC.
E is one point wonder until last. The shield strength scales with rank, but one point is enough for most CC abilities.
ARAM-Specific Tips
Your E Black Shield blocks all CC. In ARAM, save Black Shield for your carries when the enemy engages. If Malphite ults your ADC, Black Shield them and the knockup is negated. If Leona tries to stun your mid laner, Black Shield them and the stun is blocked.
Your ult + Zhonya's combo is guaranteed CC. Flash into the enemy team, press R, immediately Zhonya's. You're invulnerable for 2.5 seconds while your ult ticks. When Zhonya's ends, your ult stuns everyone near you. They can't escape because you're invulnerable.
Q through minions: Morgana's Q stops on the first target hit. In ARAM, the minion wave is always in the way. Angle your Q from the side of the bridge where there are fewer minions, or wait for a gap in the wave.
W zoning: Even if your W doesn't kill anyone, it zones a massive area. Place W on the enemy team during tower pushes to force them back. Place W on your own tower to zone enemies away.
E timing: Don't waste Black Shield on poke damage. Save it for hard CC. If the enemy has Malphite ult, Leona stun, or Morgana Q, hold your E for those abilities.
When Morgana is Strong vs Weak in ARAM
Morgana dominates against engage-heavy comps. If the enemy has Malphite, Leona, Amumu, or any hard-engage champions, your Black Shield completely shuts them down. She's also great against immobile comps who can't dodge your Q.
She struggles against long-range poke comps (Xerath, Ziggs, Lux) who outrange you and poke you down before you can get in range. She's also weak against sustain comps (Soraka, Yuumi) who heal through your W damage.
She's weakest in the first 10 minutes before Liandry's and Zhonya's. Once you have both items, you're a monster. Once you have Rylai's, you're unkillable because nobody can escape your slows.
