Miss Fortune ARAM Build — Press R, Get Pentakill
Miss Fortune has the single most devastating teamfight ultimate in ARAM. Five enemies grouped in a narrow lane with nowhere to dodge? Bullet Time does the rest. Here's how to build her for maximum ult damage.
MF in ARAM is the definition of "press R to win." The Howling Abyss is a narrow corridor where 5 people are always grouped together, and Bullet Time is a massive cone that shreds everything in front of you. There's no flanking, no side-stepping to safety — they eat the full channel or they Flash (and then eat it next time when Flash is down).
She's been a top-tier ARAM pick for years, and the lethality build makes her ult hit like a truck even against tankier comps. If you get MF in ARAM, you're probably winning.
Best Miss Fortune ARAM Runes
Primary: Domination
Dark Harvest — MF procs Dark Harvest with Q bounce and E poke constantly. But the real value is during Bullet Time — every wave of your ult can proc Dark Harvest on a new target that drops below the threshold. In a 5-man ult, Dark Harvest can proc multiple times.
Taste of Blood — Sustain from Q poke. Helps you stay healthy between fights.
Eyeball Collection — Free AD from takedowns. MF gets a lot of assists from ult alone.
Ultimate Hunter — Your ult IS your champion in ARAM. Getting it on a shorter cooldown means more teamfight-winning Bullet Times. This is mandatory.
Secondary: Precision
Presence of Mind — Bullet Time costs a lot of mana. Presence of Mind ensures you always have enough to ult when the fight breaks out.
Cut Down — In ARAM, you'll face tanks and bruisers who stack HP. Cut Down gives you bonus damage against anyone with more max HP than you, which is most champions since MF is squishy.
Arcane Comet is the poke alternative. If you want to play a more poke-oriented style with E max, Comet procs on every E cast for guaranteed damage. But Dark Harvest scales harder and makes your ult more lethal. Comet is better if your team already has enough damage and you just need to poke them down.
Best Miss Fortune ARAM Items
Core Build (in order)
Opportunity — Lethality mythic that gives you bonus damage when you haven't been in combat recently. In ARAM, you're often poking from range and then ulting from a safe position. The lethality shreds squishies and makes your ult waves hit harder.
Boots of Swiftness — MF needs to reposition for ult angles. Swifties help you get into position faster and dodge skillshots while you're looking for the perfect Bullet Time angle.
The Collector — Lethality + crit + execute passive. The execute synergizes with your ult — enemies who survive Bullet Time at low HP get finished by The Collector's passive.
Infinity Edge — Your ult can crit. IE makes those crits hit 40% harder. This is the item that turns a good ult into a pentakill.
Situational 5th & 6th Items
Lord Dominik's Regards — Against armor stackers. If they have 2+ tanks building armor, you need this to keep your ult relevant.
Mortal Reminder — If they have heavy healing. Bullet Time applies Grievous Wounds to everyone it hits, which is incredibly efficient.
Edge of Night — The spell shield prevents you from getting interrupted during ult. If they have a Blitzcrank or Thresh who keeps hooking you out of Bullet Time, this solves the problem.
Guardian Angel — If assassins keep killing you before you can ult. Die, revive, then ult while they're still fighting your team.
Don't build attack speed MF in ARAM. Kraken Slayer, Blade of the Ruined King, on-hit builds — none of it. MF's value in ARAM is her ult, and ult damage scales with AD and lethality, not attack speed. Lethality MF's ult does 2-3x more damage than attack speed MF's ult. You're not auto-attacking in extended trades — you're pressing R.
Ability Order
Max Q first (Double Up), then E (Make It Rain), then W (Strut). Take R at 6, 11, 16.
Q is your primary poke tool. The bounce mechanic is devastating in ARAM — Q a dying minion and the bounce hits the champion behind it for massive damage. The bounce always crits if the first target dies, so look for low-HP minions near enemy champions.
E second for the slow and poke damage. E is also great for proccing Arcane Comet if you go that route, and the slow helps your team land skillshots.
W is one point for the attack speed steroid and movement speed. Useful for repositioning but not worth maxing over your damage abilities.
ARAM-Specific Tips
Ult positioning is everything. Don't ult from the front. Position to the side of the fight or behind your frontline. The ideal Bullet Time angle is from the side of the bridge where enemies can't easily walk out of the cone. If you ult from directly in front, they just walk sideways. If you ult from an angle, they have to walk through your entire team to escape.
Wait for CC before ulting. A 5-man Bullet Time sounds great, but if nobody is CC'd, they'll just walk out or interrupt you. Wait for your Malphite to ult, your Leona to engage, or your Morgana to land a binding. Even a single root on a priority target is enough — ult to kill the rooted target and zone everyone else.
Q bounce kills: This is MF's secret weapon in ARAM. The Q bounce does bonus damage and always crits if the first target dies. In ARAM, minions and champions are constantly grouped. Q a low-HP minion standing next to an enemy champion and watch the bounce chunk them for 30-40% HP. This is your primary poke pattern.
Flash + R: Sometimes the best play is Flash forward or to the side and immediately ult. The enemy doesn't expect it and has no time to react. This is especially effective when they're grouped under tower and think they're safe. Flash to the side of the bridge, R, pentakill.
Don't cancel your ult early: Bullet Time does damage in waves over the full channel. Canceling it early to auto-attack is almost always wrong. The last few waves do just as much damage as the first. Only cancel if you're about to die or if everyone is already dead.
Snowball + R combo: Hit snowball on a frontline target, dash in, immediately R. You're now in the middle of their team channeling Bullet Time. This is high-risk but if your team follows up, it's a guaranteed teamfight win. Only do this if you have Edge of Night or Zhonya's as backup.
When MF is Strong vs Weak in ARAM
MF is strongest against immobile, grouped comps. If they have no dashes and no hard CC to interrupt your ult, every Bullet Time is a potential ace. She's also great against squishy comps where lethality shreds through their low armor.
She's weaker against teams with multiple ways to interrupt her ult — Blitzcrank hook, Thresh flay, Alistar headbutt, any knockup or displacement. If they have 2-3 interrupt abilities, you need to wait until they're all used before ulting, which limits your opportunities.
She also struggles against heavy dive comps. If Zed, Talon, and Katarina are all jumping on you, you can't stand still and channel ult. Build Edge of Night and Guardian Angel in these games.
