Champion Stats
Low elo players bunch up and auto-attack heavy champions are extremely popular (Master Yi, Jinx, Yasuo, Yone). Renata's R turns their strength into their greatest weakness—the more attack speed they have, the faster they kill their own teammates. They also fundamentally don't understand Bailout (W). When an ally enters the 'zombie state' with decaying health, low elo enemies stop attacking them, thinking they're already dead. If that ally gets a takedown, they revive at 35% HP. A smurf abuses this confusion by casting W on diving bruisers who then get resets and clean up the fight.
The Bailout Bait
Start E (Loyalty Program). Walk forward aggressively—E shields you while damaging and slowing enemies in a line. Auto-attack the enemy ADC or support heavily to apply your passive (Leverage), which marks them. If your ADC follows up with their own auto-attack, the mark is consumed for bonus % max HP damage. You win Level 1 trades decisively if your ADC understands to attack the same target. The combo is: E (shield yourself, hit them) > Auto (apply mark) > Ping ADC > ADC autos (consumes mark for huge damage).
The Renata Skin Tier List
'Admiral Glasc' is authoritative. 'Fright Night' is spooky. 'La Ilusion' is colorful. Default has the best boss vibes.
'Admiral Glasc' is the only way to play. The command-vibes and the sharp VFX make you feel like the CEO you are. 'Fright Night' is a great seasonal alternative with amazing sound cues.

When They Ban Renata Glasc
If Renata is gone, Lulu is your best 'protect the carry' backup. If you want the 'distruption' feel, Janna. But Renata's R is unique business—no one else can make them eat their own friends.
Lulu for the buffs. Zilean for the revive. Nami for the peel. Zilean is the only other 'Death is optional' support.
Runes That Work on Renata
Guardian (Safety) or Summoner Aery (Poke). Guardian prevents burst. Secondary Inspiration (Cosmic Insight) or Domination (Zombie Ward).
Leveling Renata's Abilities
Max E for shield/poke. Max W second for cooldown (it's long). Q last.
Mastering Renata Glasc's Kit
Handshake. Roots enemy. Recast to THROW them. Throw enemies into other enemies for a stun.
Bailout. Grants AS/Move Speed. If target dies, they resurrect with decaying HP. If they get a takedown, they burn stops and they are set to 35% HP (True Revive).
Loyalty Program. Fires missiles. Shields allies, damages/slows enemies.
Hostile Takeover. Cloud of madness. Enemies go Berserk. Attack speed increased. They attack: Their allies -> Neutrals -> Renata's team -> Renata. Use it on the ADC.
Matchups That Matter for Renata
Free win. Press R when he ults. He kills his team.
Skill. She can block your R with W! Bait the windwall first.
Hard. He executes through your W (Grey health? No, W revive still works? Wait, Pyke R ignores shields but W is a zombie state. If Pyke kills zombie state, they die? Need to check interaction. Usually Pyke is annoying).
Hostile Takeover Whiff
Stop wasting W randomly! Bailout (W) has a 20+ second cooldown at early ranks—it's one of the longest basic ability cooldowns in the game. Do not use it casually for a speed boost or a small heal. Save it exclusively for when your carry is about to die. The timing is everything: if you cast W on an ally and they die, they enter a zombie state with decaying health. If they get a takedown before the HP runs out, they revive at 35% HP with full mana. That's a complete fight reset. Cast it too early and it expires before they're in danger; cast it too late and they die before it registers. Practice the timing in normal games before ranked.
When the Draft Says No
Dodge Xerath or Vel'Koz. You have short range. They poke you out. You can't engage on them. Also Soraka heals through your damage.

Your Role in the 5v5
In teamfights, look for the choke point. Press R (Hostile Takeover) when 3+ enemies are grouped. Watch them auto-attack each other. W your carry if they get dove. Q a diver to fling them away. You control the pace.
Your W 'Bailout' is a second life. Use it on the carry just before they die. If they get a kill, they stay alive. It's better than a G.A. because it keeps them in the fight. You are the director of life and death.
The Enchanter Renata Build
Tank Renata. Locket -> Frozen Heart -> Anathema's. You just survive and press W/R. You don't need AP.
Locket of the Iron Solari and Imperial Mandate are your core. Add a Redemption for the AOE healing. You don't need damage; you just need to keep the high-value employees alive. Efficiency is key.
Locket -> Redemption -> Frozen Heart. Tank Renata is best. Stay alive to cast W. You are a cooldown machine, not a damage dealer.
Renata's Strongest Moments
Level 6 (The Ult). Late game (Revive potential). Enemy team having a fed ADC.
Level 6 for the R. Mid-game skirmishes where your W can reset. Late game where the enemy ADC's damage becomes your R's damage. The stronger they are, the better your ult works.
Level 6 Hostile Takeover. Late game against hyper-carries (Jinx/Kog'Maw). Their strength is your strength. You scale with the enemy team's gold.
The Hostile Takeover
Type 'Bad investment' in chat. Reviving an ally who should have died 3 times. Turning their fed 20/0 Vayne into your 6th teammate with R.
Your R 'Hostile Takeover' is the most tilter-friendly ability in the game. Using their fed Jinx to kill her own Lux is poetry. Save it for when they clump or for a jungle choke point.
Ulting the fed enemy Master Yi and watching him kill his own support. Type 'Traitor' in chat. W save at the last second. You are the puppet master.
