The Void Surge

First Blood Strategy

Bel'Veth has a very strong level 1-3. Start Q (Void Surge) and use your 4 dashes (one for each direction) to out-duel almost any jungler in a level 1 invade. At level 2, take W (Above and Below) for the knock-up and Q-reset. A level 2 gank is extremely effective due to the multiple gap-closes.

Your Q resets in the direction of your movement. Practice the dash patterns in the jungle until it's second nature. A good Bel'Veth never stops moving. If you're standing still, you're dying.

Which Belveth Skin to Use

'Cosmic Bel'Veth' is a stunning skin with amazing visual effects on her True Form and Void Fish. 'Battle Boss Bel'Veth' is the smurf's choice for its pixelated effects and clear animations. No other skins currently exist, but the default model is already quite intimidating when fully evolved.

'Cosmic' is the current bis for the animation clarity on the True Form dashes. 'Battle Boss' is the smurf's choice if you like the pixel style. The default model is already quite good, but the Cosmic SFX are significantly more punchy.

When They Ban Belveth

Backup Picks

If Bel'Veth is banned, Master Yi offers a similar 'on-hit hypercarry' playstyle. Viego for the reset-based carry potential. Kindred for the scaling marksman feel.

Master Yi and Viego are your hyper-carry pivots. Kindred if you want the marksman feel. If you go for Viego, remember you're now a reset assassin, not a stat-check bruiser. Adjust your engage timing.

Optimal Runes for Belveth

Best Runes

Conqueror is the standard for sustained healing and AD that scales with her immense attack speed. Lethal Tempo is an alternative for pure late-game DPS. Secondary Inspiration with Magical Footwear and Cosmic Insight to reach your core items and have Flash more often.

Belveth's Ability Priority

Q E W

Max Q first—the cooldown reduction and damage on your primary mobility tool is vital. Max E second for the increased damage reduction and life steal in her Maelstrom. Max W last as it's primarily a CC/reset utility.

Mastering Bel'Veth's Kit

Q
Void Surge

Void Surge. A dash in 4 directions. Hitting an enemy with W or E can reset the direction's cooldown. It applies on-hit effects. Use it to dodge and stay on top of targets.

W
Above and Below

Above and Below. A line knock-up that slows and resets the cooldown of the Q direction hit. This is your primary CC—land it to guarantee your full burst.

E
Royal Maelstrom

Royal Maelstrom. You channel, attacking nearby enemies rapidly, gaining damage reduction and massive life steal. This is your 'oh sh*t' button. Use it to survive burst or finish low-HP targets.

R
Endless Banquet

Endless Banquet. Passive: every second attack deals bonus True Damage. Active: consume a Void Coral to enter True Form and deal AoE damage. True Form gives HP, Range, and MS.

Belveth's Lane Opponents

Vs Master Yi Skill

Skill Matchup. You win early, he wins late unless you are fed. Save your W for when he exits Alpha Strike. Your E can out-sustain his burst if timed correctly.

Vs Rammus Hard

Hard Counter. His Taunt and Armor-reflect will literally kill you for attacking him. You cannot play the game if he is in your vicinity. Ban or dodge.

Vs Warwick Skill

Skill Matchup. He has more early sustain but you out-scale him. Avoid long duels early on and wait for your Kraken Slayer spike.

True Form Greed

WARNING

Stop dashing into your death! Your Q has 4 separate cooldowns. If you use all of them to get in and the enemy doesn't die, you are a sitting duck. Also, save your E for the enemy's main burst—don't just use it at the start of a fight for damage. Patience is key to her survivability.

The extra reach on your dashes in True Form is massive. Use it to catch Flash-less ADCs from a screen away. Bel'Veth is about the chase—don't let them escape the Void.

When the Duel Is Unwinnable

Dodge if facing heavy CC comps with Rammus or Leona. If you get stunned during your E, you will die. Also dodge into Jax who can block your entire attack-speed-based damage with his Counter Strike.

Jax is your hard counter. He blocks your entire attack-speed-based identity. Rammus is equally annoying—you'll kill yourself on his thorns. If either are picked, focus on objective control and Void Grubs.

Dodge if facing heavy CC comps with Rammus or Leona. If you get stunned during your E, you die. Jax is also a dodge—he blocks your entire attack-speed-based damage with Counter Strike.

Diving the Backline

In teamfights, you are a cleanup machine. Let your team engage, then use your Q and W to dive in. Your goal is to get a kill so you can consume a Coral and enter True Form. Once in True Form, you gain massive HP and your Q can dash through walls. Shred the frontline with your True Damage stacks (Passive) and finish everyone with your E.

Let your team go in first. You are the cleanup crew. Once a carry is low, dash in and get the kill. Consuming the Coral is what makes you a raid boss. Without it, you're just a fast manta ray.

The On-Hit Bel'Veth Build

Full On-hit 'Laser' Bel'Veth. Kraken Slayer -> Blade of the Ruined King -> Guinsoo's Rageblade -> Wit's End. With this build, you will hit 4.0+ attack speed easily. You will literally melt anything in your path in seconds. It's the ultimate 'stat-check' build for carrying uncoordinated teams.

Kraken into BotRK is the standard. If they have a fed assassin, swap BotRK for a Wits End or a Death's Dance. You need the survivability more than the extra AS. Guinsoo's is the 'I'm winning already' item.

Timing Belveth's All-Ins

Level 6 is your biggest spike—the first Coral you consume gives you the True Form and the ability to spawn Void Fish. 2 items (Kraken + BotRK) is when you become almost impossible to duel 1v1. Each Void Grub you take increases your siege potential exponentially.

Level 6 is where you start to control the jungle. If you get a kill, take the Void Grubs immediately. The push pressure from the fish is how you end the game by 25 minutes. Don't waste your peak.

The Void Coral Reset

Spam 'dance' in True Form while your Void Fish are destroying the enemy base. Type 'All will be consumed' in all-chat after taking Baron. The sight of a giant manta-ray monster followed by a hundred little void fish is one of the most demoralizing sights in League.

Type 'Nom Nom Nom' in all-chat after you consume a Coral and wipe the team. Most players tilt because Bel'Veth feels 'unbeatable' when evolved. Use that frustration to your advantage. Objective control is everything.
