Champion Stats
Low elo players ward lazily. They check the pixel brush and assume they are safe, while Fiddle is ult-channeling over the Raptor wall. The passive fear mechanic on his ultimate allows you to chain-CC an entire team essentially for free. Smurfs also abuse the effigies (Passive) to sweep vision constantly, creating 'dark zones' where the enemy is too terrified to walk. A single good R from Fiddlesticks ends the game instantly.
The Drain Start
The 'Simultaneous Clear'. Start W (Bountiful Harvest). You can drain Blue Buff and Gromp at the same time if you stand in the pixel-perfect spot. This gives you one of the fastest full-clears in the game, allowing you to reach Level 4 while the enemy jungler is still Level 3. Use this tempo advantage to gank or invade immediately.
Double-farming Blue and Gromp is what makes Fiddle a monster. If you aren't doing it, you're 30 seconds behind. Clear everything, hit 6, and then the game starts. Vision control is your only job—if they see you, you're just a scarecrow.
Skins Worth Buying for Fiddlesticks
'Surprise Party Fiddlesticks' is legendary (Clown noises). 'Star Nemesis' is terrifyingly good. 'Praetorian' is robotic horror. Default scares people.
'Surprise Party' is the only choice. The clown noises on the R are purely for the mental collapse of the enemy team. 'Star Nemesis' is for the high-end horror. Avoid 'Praetorian'—the sound effects are a bit too mechanical.
'Surprise Party' is legendary for the clown noises—it's mental warfare. 'Star Nemesis' is terrifyingly good. 'Praetorian' is robotic horror. Default is actually very scary. Surprise Party is the main choice.
When They Ban Fiddlesticks
Karthus is the best 'AFK farm and win' alternative. Evelynn for the same 'surprise' factor. If you pick Amumu, remember you have to be the one to engage. Fiddle waits; Amumu goes.
Karthus for the AFK farm and global pressure. Evelynn for the stealth and flank angles. Amumu for the big AoE CC if you need a tank. Karthus matches the 'farm until 6 then press R' style.
Fiddlesticks's Rune Page
First Strike (Gold/Burst) or Dark Harvest (Scaling) or Electrocute. First Strike is great because R deals massive AOE damage before they can touch you. Predator is mostly dead.
What to Max on Fiddlesticks
Max W first for clear/drain. Max Q second for Fear duration (HUGE). E last.
Mastering Fiddlesticks's Kit
Terrify. Passive: Spells fear unseen enemies. Active: Point-and-click Fear + Damage based on current HP.
Bountiful Harvest. Channel drain. AOE. Heals Fiddle. Executes minion. Reduced CD if full channel.
Reap. Slash area. Slows. Silence center.
Crowstorm. Channel then Blink. Massive AOE magic damage around Fiddle. Moves with you.
Who Fiddlesticks Beats (And Who Beats Fiddlesticks)
Hard. He kicks you away. Invades you early.
Annoying. He can Alpha Strike your Fear. Q him instantly.
Easy. You counter-engage him. He ults, you ult on top of him.
Lee Sin matches are pure anxiety. A good Lee will invade your Red at level 2 while you're still draining. Ward your entrances. Later, if you try to ult, he can kick you away before your fear lands. You need to be the one engaging from fog, not reacting to him.
Crowstorm Positioning
Stop engaging when they can see you! If you are visible to the enemy, your Ultimate DOES NOT FEAR them. You are just a fragile scarecrow blinking into 5 people to die. You must use Control Wards and your Effigies to ensure you are unseen. Also, do not move during your W channel! The final tick deals % Missing HP damage; cancelling it early ruins your execute potential.
Control wards are your best friends. If there's a ward near you, your R won't fear. Always assume they have vision unless you've swept it. A 5-man fear is a won game. A 5-man R without the fear is a lost game.
When Scaling Isn't an Option
Dodge Janna or Gragas. Their R pushes you away instantly after you R in. Your ult is wasted.
Janna and Gragas will push you out of your Ult area immediately. If you're against them, you have to wait for their R to be down. Your Ult is a one-shot window—don't waste it on a disengage.
Dodge Janna or Gragas. Their displacement ultimates push you away instantly after you R in. Your ult is a one-shot window; if they reset the fight, you are useless.
Positioning for Maximum Damage
In teamfights, you do not exist. You are hiding. Wait for the fight to start. R over a wall into the carry. Q the most dangerous target immediately (double CC). E for silence. W to drain tank. Zhonya's if focused. If you land a 5-man fear R, the game is over.
Hiding is your entire gameplay. Stand behind walls, wait for the clump, then R. Once you're in, mash W. Don't move! The full drain channel is where your HP comes back. Zhonya's if they focus you after the fear ends.
The AP Fiddlesticks Build
Tank Fiddle. Frozen Heart -> Spirit Visage -> Riftmaker. You drain tank them and they can't kill you. Not ideal for 1v9 carrying but funny.
Malignance is the new core for the Ult haste. Liandry's for the melt. Zhonya's is mandatory. Add Stormsurge for the extra burst on your R landing. Fiddle is an AP nuke—build like one.
Malignance is the new core for Ult haste. Liandry's for the burn. Zhonya's is mandatory for the stasis during R. Add Stormsurge for the burst. You are an AP nuke, not a tank.
When Fiddlesticks Hits Hardest
Level 6 (Crowstorm). Zhonya's Hourglass. Rocketbelt spike.
Level 6 is your birth. Zhonya's is your insurance. Once you have two items, your R can solo-win a teamfight. Fiddle doesn't fall off, he just gets more reliant on good positioning.
Level 6 (Crowstorm) is your birth. Zhonya's Hourglass is your insurance policy. Rocketbelt or Malignance completion is your engage spike. Fiddle wins games with vision control.
The 5-Man Crowstorm
Using Effigies to fake an ult. The Effigies flash/run/attack? No, they mimic actions. Scaring people with fake Fiddles. The silence sound.
Your Q passive makes your first ability from out of vision fear. This includes your E and W. If you're hiding, you don't always need R to fear them. A hidden E into a W is a great ways to peel.
Use Effigies to fake an ult or check bushes. Your Q passive fears enemies if you damage them from out of vision. A hidden E silence into fear can win a fight without even ulting.
