Champion Stats
Low elo mental fundamentally cannot handle permanent stealth. They push waves without vision, they walk through river alone, they farm jungle camps in their own territory assuming it's safe. You collect them one by one. Her Charm (W) creates psychological pressure before you even engage—the heart appears above their head, they see they are about to be assassinated, and they panic Flash or run in a predictable direction. You finish them anyway.
The Invisible Setup
Evelynn has no level 1 cheese. She is weak early—accept this. Full clear to Level 6. Do NOT force ganks unless the enemy is at 20% HP under tower with no summs. Powerfarm. Your job is to hit 6 as fast as possible (around 5:30-6:00). Raptors ’ Red ’ Krugs ’ Scuttle ’ Wolves ’ Blue ’ Gromp ’ Back ’ Repeat. You need your passive Camouflage to function. Before 6, you are useless.
Don't even bother ganking pre-6 unless it's a 100% free kill. Your goal is the fastest Level 6 in the server. Once you have stealth, the game truly begins. Powerfarm and ward their jungle—know where they are and be elsewhere.
The Evelynn Skin Tier List
'K/DA All Out' or classic 'K/DA' are the gold standards. The sound cues on the music skins are helpful for tracking passive stealth timing (the music fades in). 'Coven Evelynn' is extremely high quality with clean VFX. 'Sugar Rush' is for the meme factor. 'Safecracker' is underrated for its minimalist aesthetic.
'K/DA All Out' is the gold standard for a reason. The music fading in gives you a perfect tactile sense of your stealth range. 'Coven' is for the high-end style. Avoid 'Masquerade'—it's just too basic for an Eve main.
When They Ban Evelynn
Kha'Zix and Shaco offer the same stealth-and-delete gameplay. If you pick Elise, remember you have no late game. Stick to Kha'Zix if you want the reset potential and the same 'isolation' feel.
Kha'Zix offers similar burst assassination and stealth angles. AP Shaco provides mental warfare and boxes. Elise is the early-game AP alternative if you want to dive towers. Kha'Zix is the best void-stealth alternative.
Runes That Work on Evelynn
Electrocute is mandatory—your burst combo (Q-E-R) triggers it instantly for maximum one-shot damage. Sudden Impact provides free Magic Penetration after you E. Relentless Hunter gives permanent out-of-combat movement speed for cross-map rotations while stealthed. Secondary: Absolute Focus + Gathering Storm for scaling damage, or Nimbus Cloak + Celerity for more chase.
Leveling Evelynn's Abilities
Max Q first for clear speed and damage—it's your primary DPS tool. Max E second for the higher burst. W is a one-point wonder for the charm setup; maxing it doesn't increase your burst significantly.
Mastering Evelynn's Kit
Hate Spike fires a skillshot dart (Allure's hate spike), then allows 3 auto-targeted spike follow-ups. Hitting the first dart is CRUCIAL—it refunds cooldown and applies bonus damage marks. Missing the first Q severely reduces your DPS. You can spam Q while moving to kite camps during clears.
Allure curses a target. If you wait 2.5 seconds, the curse becomes a CHARM (they walk toward you helplessly) and applies Magic Resist Shred. If you proc it early, it becomes a massive slow instead. Against mobile targets (Ezreal), proc early for the slow; against stationary targets, wait for the charm. The MR shred is huge against tanks.
Whiplash pulls you to the target. Empowered Whiplash (when your passive Demon Shade is active) deals % Max HP damage and gives bonus movement speed. Use the MS to stick to flashing targets. Empowered E is your primary damage source—ensure your passive is up before engaging.
Last Caress DECIMATES enemies below 30% HP (deals massively increased damage to low-HP targets). It also teleports you BACKWARD and makes you UNTARGETABLE during cast. You can R backward over Dragon/Baron pit walls. Use R to finish kills AND escape simultaneously—never die with R up.
Matchups That Matter for Evelynn
Hard Counter. His R reveals the nearest enemy champion—often you. He can one-shot you from stealth before you react. Avoid him in jungle. Outscale past 3 items.
Annoying Matchup. His R (Requiem) hits you through Camouflage. It doesn't reveal you, but it damages you. He also outfarms you. Try to assassinate him in fights before he can R.
Charm Impatience
Do NOT die with R up. Your R (Last Caress) is your escape. It makes you untargetable and blinks you backward. If you die with R available, you made a mistake—you should have ulted out. Also, do not waste Charm on tanks. Save W for priority squishies. If the ADC flashes, you have E MS to chase; don't panic.
Waiting 2.5 seconds for the full charm is the difference between a kill and an int. Use the slow if they're already dying, but otherwise, wait for the heart to fill. Your R is your get-out-of-jail-free card—don't waste it defensively unless you have to.
When You Can't Get Resets
Dodge if the enemy drafts champions with reveal mechanics. Rengar sees you with R. Lee Sin E reveals you. Rek'Sai tremor sense detects you while burrowed. Also dodge heavy-vision support players like a good Pyke or Bard who ward constantly. Karthus R hits you in stealth—annoying but not necessarily dodge-worthy.
Rengar and Rek'Sai are your hard counters. They see you before you see them. If you're against them, play like a rat. Ward your own jungle and wait for them to over-extend. Don't initiate the 1v1.
The Flank Assassination
FLANK. Do not engage through the frontline. Circle around using your permanent stealth. Wait for the fight to start without you—let your tank absorb cooldowns. Find the enemy ADC or Mage. W them (wait 2.5 seconds if possible for full charm, or instant-proc for massive slow). Q-E-R. They are dead. Disappear. Regen HP with your passive (you heal rapidly below 50% HP while stealthed). Re-engage when cooldowns are back.
Circummove through the frontline. You don't exist in their world until they're charmed. Find the ADC, press W, and watch them panic. Q-E-R is the standard one-shot. If you're fed, you don't even need the R.
The One-Shot Eve Build
Mejai's Soulstealer is not optional—it's mandatory. You should NOT be dying on Evelynn. A fully stacked Mejai's gives you 145 AP for 1600 gold. Your charm-R combo one-shots anyone at 20 stacks. For full build: Hextech Rocketbelt ’ Mejai's ’ Rabadon's Deathcap ’ Void Staff. Pure AP glass cannon.
Mejai's is mandatory. If you don't have it, you aren't playing Eve. Rabadon's as a second or third item is the only way to scale into the late game one-shot goddess. Avoid building tanky—your 'tank' is being invisible.
Evelynn's Strongest Moments
Level 6 is your coming-online moment. Before 6, you are a minion. Hextech Rocketbelt completion is your first item spike—the dash adds gap close and burst. Rabadon's Deathcap is when you start genuinely one-shotting with just E-R. Respect these timings; don't force ganks pre-6.
Level 6 is your birth. Every item completion (Rocketbelt, Lich Bane, Rabadon's) is a massive spike. By 3 items, you should be able to kill anyone who isn't a 5k HP tank. End the game before they buy three Banshee's Veils.
The Invisible Stalker
Sitting next to them in stealth while they recall, then killing them at the last second is the ultimate BM. Stand in their jungle bush, wait for them to walk by, pop out, and delete them. After every kill, disappear—they never see you leave. They have no idea where you are. The mental pressure of 'Evelynn could be anywhere' wins games before fights even start.
Your Q has a fast reset if you hit a target. Use it to shred the jungle camps and keep your tempo high. Evelynn is about the relentless pressure of the unknown—always be moving.
