The Turret Setup

First Blood Strategy

Start Q (H-28G Evolution Turret). Arrive at the lane early and set up 3 turrets in a triangular formation near the middle. Level 1, most champions cannot clear your turrets efficiently. You can push the wave instantly and harass the enemy under tower while they struggle to last hit. Level 2 with E (CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade) gives you the stun needed to trigger turret beam-fire.

Don't just place turrets randomly. Place them in a triangle so they cover each other. If an enemy jumps on one, they take fire from two others. Use bushes to hide turrets for cheese level 1 waits. Your turrets are your kingdom; defend them.

Ranking Heimerdinger's Skins

'Hazmat Heimerdinger' is the classic 'try-hard' smurf skin—the unique visuals and 'danger' theme are perfect. 'Dragon Trainer Heimerdinger' is a high-tier legendary choice with amazing animations. 'Pool Party Heimerdinger' is a fun, annoying choice with 'water' effects. Avoid 'Blast Zone Heimerdinger' as it's the absolute basic look.

'Dragon Trainer' turns your turrets into little dragons—adorable and readable. 'Alien Invader' is classic but outdated. 'Hazmat' is clean. 'Pool Party' turrets are water guns. Dragon Trainer is the highest quality, but Hazmat feels the most 'scientific'.

If Heimerdinger is banned, Zyra offers a similar 'summon-and-zone' profile. Anivia for the wall and zoning control. Viktor for the medium-range burst and control.

Zyra brings the plant pets. Shaco brings boxes (psychological damage). Teemo brings shrooms. You want area denial and frustration. Zyra is the closest mage equivalent.

Max Q first—it's your entire identity, providing the health and damage your turrets need to survive. Max W second for the massive primary burst damage. Max E last as the stun duration is fixed.

The Heimerdinger Matchup Sheet

Vs Yasuo Hard

Hard Matchup. His Wind Wall (W) can block your rockets and grenade, and he can dash through your turrets to reach you. You have to wait for his wall to be down before using your cooldowns.

Vs Syndra Hard

Hard Counter. She can use her W (Force of Will) to pick up your turrets and throw them out of the lane. She also out-ranges you with her Q-E stun. You have to play very defensively.

Vs Irelia Easy

Easy Matchup (if played right). You can poke her down level 1-2. If she tries to dash to your turrets, time your E-stun to catch her mid-dash. Once she's stunned, your turrets will delete her.

Turret Placement Ego

Stop wasting your R! Your choice of which ability to upgrade (RQ, RW, or RE) defines the outcome of the fight. Use RQ for sustained defense and zone control, RW for single-target burst, and RE for team-wide CC. Also, don't forget to kite *around* your turrets—if you run away in a straight line, your turrets won't help you.

When They Outrange You

Dodge if facing heavy 'long-range poke' or 'AOE waveclear' comps with Xerath, Vel'Koz, or Sivir if your team has no way to close the gap. They can destroy your turrets from afar. Also dodge into Syndra who can pick up and throw your turrets away.

The Backline Artillery

In teamfights, you are a zone controller. Set up your turrets in a defensive formation near the objective. Use your W (Hextech Micro-Rockets) to poke from range and your E to peel for yourself or catch a carry. Use RE (Lightning Grenade) if you have a great angle to stun multiple people, or RQ if the enemy is diving your team. You are the wall that the enemy can't pass.

Your W rockets fan out. If you aim them all at a single point, you deal massive burst. Use this with your E stun to guarantee every rocket lands. It's the secret to his single-target damage.

The Turret Heimer Build

Full AP 'Nuclear Invention' Heimerdinger. Luden's Tempest -> Lich Bane -> Rabadon's Deathcap. With this build, your RW (R-upgraded Rockets) can literally one-shot a squishy from across the lane. It's hilarious to see an ADC disappear because they were hit by a barrage of rockets. Maximum BM, high-risk.

When Heimerdinger Comes Online

Level 1 is your strongest push window. Level 6 is your objective-securing spike. Your biggest item spike is reaching Liandry's Anguish or Zhonya's Hourglass—Zhonya's allows you to stay safe while your turrets do the work.
