Yone ARAM Build — E Engage and Snap Back to Safety
Yone in ARAM is a high-mobility assassin with built-in safety. His E lets him dive in, delete someone, and snap back to safety. Here's how to build him for maximum impact on the Howling Abyss.
Yone in ARAM is Yasuo's cooler brother. He has the same crit-based damage and mobility, but his E (Soul Unbound) gives him a built-in escape that Yasuo doesn't have. You can E forward, dive the enemy backline, delete a carry, and snap back to your original position. This makes Yone way safer than Yasuo in ARAM's constant teamfights.
His win rate in ARAM sits around 49%, which sounds average, but that's because he's high skill cap. A good Yone player can easily maintain 52%+ win rates. The key is knowing when to E in and when to wait for cooldowns.
Best Yone ARAM Runes
Primary: Domination
Dark Harvest — Yone stacks this fast because he's constantly getting kills and assists. By 15 minutes you'll have 20+ stacks and your E + Q3 + R combo will one-shot squishies.
Sudden Impact — Your E dash procs Sudden Impact for bonus lethality and magic penetration. Free damage on every engage.
Eyeball Collection — Free AD and AP from takedowns. You'll max this out fast.
Treasure Hunter — Extra gold on unique kills. ARAM games are shorter, so the early gold spike helps you hit your 2-item power spike faster.
Secondary: Precision
Legend: Alacrity — Attack speed. Yone needs attack speed to reduce his Q cooldown.
Coup de Grace — More damage to low HP targets. Synergizes with your execute playstyle.
Why not Conqueror? Conqueror is Yone's go-to in ranked, but ARAM doesn't need the sustained damage. Dark Harvest gives you way more burst damage for one-shot combos. You're not dueling — you're diving in, ulting, and deleting someone.
Best Yone ARAM Items
Core Build (in order)
Immortal Shieldbow — Yone's core mythic. The shield keeps you alive when you dive in. The lifesteal lets you sustain through poke.
Berserker's Greaves — Attack speed boots. Yone needs attack speed to reduce his Q cooldown to 1.33 seconds.
Infinity Edge — Yone's passive gives him 50% crit chance for free, so you hit 100% crit with just 2 items. IE makes your crits hit 40% harder. This is your biggest power spike.
Bloodthirster — More lifesteal and a shield. You'll be unkillable with Shieldbow + BT.
Situational 5th & 6th Items
Lord Dominik's Regards — If they have 2+ tanks stacking armor. You'll need this most games.
Mortal Reminder — If they have heavy healing. The Grievous Wounds applies on your Q and autos.
Guardian Angel — If you keep getting focused in teamfights. Dying once and coming back is often enough to win the fight.
Wit's End — If they have 3+ AP champions. The magic resist and on-hit damage are both strong.
Don't skip Immortal Shieldbow. Some Yone players rush IE first. Don't do this in ARAM. You need the shield from Shieldbow to survive teamfights. Without it, you'll get one-shot every time you E in.
Ability Order
Max Q first (Mortal Steel), then E (Soul Unbound), then W (Spirit Cleave). Take R at 6, 11, 16.
Q is your primary damage and waveclear. Lower cooldown means more Q3 tornadoes for ult setups.
E second for the cooldown reduction and damage amp. In ARAM, you're constantly E'ing in and out of fights.
W is one point wonder until last. The shield is nice, but the scaling isn't worth maxing over Q or E.
ARAM-Specific Tips
Your E snaps you back to your original position. Yone's E (Soul Unbound) lets you dash forward in spirit form. After 5 seconds (or when you recast E), you snap back to your original position. In ARAM, use E to dive the enemy backline, delete a carry, and snap back to safety. This is why Yone is safer than Yasuo.
Your E amplifies damage dealt. Yone's E stores 25-35% of the damage you deal while in spirit form, then deals it as bonus true damage when you snap back. In ARAM, this means your E + Q3 + R combo deals massive burst damage.
Q3 tornado: Yone's Q stacks twice, then the third Q is a tornado that knocks up enemies. In ARAM, use Q3 to knock up multiple enemies on the narrow bridge, then R to them for massive AOE damage.
E engage timing: Don't E in randomly. Wait for the enemy to use their CC, then E in and delete someone. If you E in first, you'll get CC'd and die before you can snap back.
R positioning: Yone's R dashes forward and knocks up all enemies hit. In ARAM, use R to engage on the enemy backline, then E back to safety. Don't R solo — you'll get focused and die.
When Yone is Strong vs Weak in ARAM
Yone dominates against squishy, low-CC comps. If the enemy team is 3+ mages or ADCs with no hard CC, your E + R combo will delete them constantly. He's also great with knock-up comps (Malphite, Alistar, Nami) who can set up your R.
He struggles against point-and-click CC comps. If they have Malzahar, Lissandra, and Nautilus, you're going to get CC'd every time you E in. He's also weak against heavy poke comps (Xerath, Ziggs, Lux) who can poke you down before you can engage.
He's weakest in the first 10 minutes before Shieldbow and IE. Once you have both items, you're a monster. Once you have Bloodthirster, you're unkillable.
