ARAM Build Guide

Yasuo ARAM Build — Windwall Wins Games on the Bridge

Yasuo in ARAM is all about windwall timing and knowing when to engage. Here's how to build him for maximum impact on the Howling Abyss.

Yasuo in ARAM is either a 1v9 carry or a 0/10 feeder. There's no in-between. His entire kit is built around mobility, crit damage, and his W windwall — which is arguably the most broken ability in ARAM. A well-placed windwall can block an entire team's worth of projectiles on the narrow bridge.

His win rate in ARAM sits around 48%, which sounds bad, but that's because he's high skill cap and most people int on him. A good Yasuo player can easily maintain 52%+ win rates. The key is knowing when to go in and when to sit behind your team and windwall.

Best Yasuo ARAM Runes

Primary: Domination

Dark Harvest — Yasuo stacks this fast because he's constantly getting kills and assists. By 15 minutes you'll have 20+ stacks and your Q3 tornado + ult combo will one-shot squishies.

Sudden Impact — Your E dash procs Sudden Impact for bonus lethality. Free damage on every engage.

Eyeball Collection — Free AD from takedowns. You'll max this out fast.

Treasure Hunter — Extra gold on unique kills. ARAM games are shorter, so the early gold spike helps you hit your 2-item power spike faster.

Secondary: Precision

Legend: Alacrity — Attack speed. Yasuo needs attack speed to reduce his Q cooldown.

Coup de Grace — More damage to low HP targets. Synergizes with your execute playstyle.

Why not Conqueror? Conqueror is Yasuo's go-to in ranked, but ARAM doesn't need the sustained damage. Dark Harvest gives you way more burst damage for one-shot combos. You're not dueling — you're diving in, ulting, and deleting someone.

Best Yasuo ARAM Items

Core Build (in order)

Immortal Shieldbow — Yasuo's core mythic. The shield keeps you alive when you dive in. The lifesteal lets you sustain through poke.

Berserker's Greaves — Attack speed boots. Yasuo needs attack speed to reduce his Q cooldown to 1.33 seconds.

Infinity Edge — Yasuo's passive doubles his crit chance, so you hit 100% crit with just 2 items. IE makes your crits hit 40% harder. This is your biggest power spike.

Bloodthirster — More lifesteal and a shield. You'll be unkillable with Shieldbow + BT.

Situational 5th & 6th Items

Lord Dominik's Regards — If they have 2+ tanks stacking armor. You'll need this most games.

Mortal Reminder — If they have heavy healing. The Grievous Wounds applies on your Q and autos.

Guardian Angel — If you keep getting focused in teamfights. Dying once and coming back is often enough to win the fight.

Wit's End — If they have 3+ AP champions. The magic resist and on-hit damage are both strong.

Don't skip Immortal Shieldbow. Some Yasuo players rush IE first. Don't do this in ARAM. You need the shield from Shieldbow to survive teamfights. Without it, you'll get one-shot every time you ult in.

Ability Order

Max Q first (Steel Tempest), then E (Sweeping Blade), then W (Wind Wall). Take R at 6, 11, 16.

Q is your primary damage and waveclear. Lower cooldown means more tornadoes for ult setups.

E second for the dash cooldown reduction and damage. In ARAM, you're constantly dashing through minions and champions.

W is one point wonder until last. The windwall duration doesn't scale with rank — only the cooldown does. Max it last.

ARAM-Specific Tips

Your windwall blocks everything. Yasuo's W windwall blocks all projectiles for 4 seconds. In ARAM, this includes: all ADC autos, all mage skillshots, all ults (Ashe R, Jinx R, Ezreal R). A well-placed windwall can block 10,000+ damage in a single teamfight. This is why Yasuo is broken in ARAM.

Your Q3 tornado is your engage tool. Yasuo's Q stacks twice, then the third Q is a tornado that knocks up enemies. In ARAM, use Q3 to knock up multiple enemies on the narrow bridge, then R to them for massive AOE damage.

Windwall timing: Don't windwall randomly. Wait for the enemy to use their big abilities (Ashe R, Jinx R, Lux R), then windwall to block them. A good windwall can win entire teamfights.

E dash pathing: Yasuo's E dashes through units. In ARAM, use the minion wave to dash in and out of fights. E through minions to get close, Q3 tornado, R, then E back out through minions.

Ult positioning: Yasuo's R teleports him to knocked-up enemies and deals massive damage. In ARAM, wait for your team to knock up enemies (Malphite R, Alistar Q, Nami Q), then R to them. Don't ult solo — you'll get focused and die.

When Yasuo is Strong vs Weak in ARAM

Yasuo dominates against projectile-heavy comps. If the enemy team is 3+ ADCs or mages with skillshots, your windwall will block everything. He's also great with knock-up comps (Malphite, Alistar, Nami) who can set up your ult.

He struggles against point-and-click CC comps. If they have Malzahar, Lissandra, and Nautilus, you're going to get CC'd every time you ult in. He's also weak against melee-heavy comps who don't rely on projectiles.

He's weakest in the first 10 minutes before Shieldbow and IE. Once you have both items, you're a monster. Once you have Bloodthirster, you're unkillable.
