Why High-Elo Players Smurf with Yorick
Low elo players don't know how to deal with Yorick's ghouls. They will let him land a Mourning Mist (E) and then try to ignore the ghouls, not realizing they are taking hundreds of damage. They also fail to respect her Maiden, allowing Yorick to have permanent lane pressure and objective shred. He is the king of the 'AFK-win' where he just pushes top while the enemy 5v4's his team for no gain.
The Level 1 Cheese
First Blood Strategy
Start Q (Last Rites). Focus on last-hitting minions to create graves. Once you have 3-4 graves, you have massive lane pressure. Level 2 with E (Mourning Mist) allows you to summon ghouls and jump onto the enemy for a surprisingly high damage trade. Most enemies don't expect the burst from 4 ghouls.
The 'Pay-to-Win' Skin Advantage
'Meowrick' is the definitive smurf skin—the pink cat costume and the kitty ghouls are pure mental warfare. 'Arclight Yorick' offers amazing golden effects. 'Pentakill III: Lost Chapter Yorick' is the prestigious choice. Avoid 'Undertaker Yorick' as it's the absolute basic look.
When They Ban Yorick

Nasus offers a similar 'infinite scaling split-push' profile.
Trundle for the raw tower-shredding and 1v1.
Jax for the mobile bruiser split-push.
Rune Setup
Best Runes: Conqueror is the best choice for maximizing your damage in prolonged 1v1s. Grasp of the Undying is an alternative for safer lane scaling. Secondary Inspiration with Magical Footwear and Approach Velocity to help you catch enemies you've hit with E.
Skill Priority
Order:
Q → E → WMax Q first—it's your primary damage, grave-creation, and sustain tool. Max E second for the lower cooldown and higher slow on your jump signal. Max W last as the cage durability is sufficient with levels.
Mastering Yorick's Kit
Last Rites. Yorick's next basic attack deals bonus physical damage and heals him. If it kills a target, it creates a grave. If 3+ graves are nearby, he can summon ghouls.
Dark Procession. Yorick summons a circular wall of spirits that can be broken by basic attacks. Perfect for trapping immobile carries or blocking jungle paths.
Mourning Mist. Yorick hurls a sphere of black mist that deals magic damage, slows, and marks enemies. Marked enemies are jumped on by all nearby ghouls and the Maiden.
Eulogy of the Isles. Yorick summons the Maiden of the Mist. She moves and attacks on her own, summoning ghouls and dealing bonus magic damage based on the target's max HP.
Matchup Tips
Hard Counter. She can one-shot your ghouls with her Q, giving her free stacks and mobility. You must play extremely safely and never summon ghouls when her Q is up.
Hard Matchup. He can ult you and separate you from your Maiden, or vice versa. You have to win the trade before he hits level 6 or buy a QSS.
Easy Matchup. You can trap him in your cage (W) every time he tries to Q-silence you. Your ghouls and Maiden will shred him while he spins harmlessly.
The Ego Check
WARNING: Stop leaving your Maiden in lane to die! She is your most powerful tool. If you lose her, you are half a champion for 2 minutes. Also, don't miss your E! If you don't land the mist, your ghouls will just wander aimlessly instead of jumping on the carry. Also, remember to break your cage if you're trapped too!
When to Queue Dodge
Dodge if facing heavy 'mobility' or 'waveclear' comps with Irelia, Jax, or Anivia if your team has no engage. Irelia especially can use your ghouls as free dash-resets. Also dodge into Tryndamere who can out-duel you in his R.
Teamfight Role
In teamfights, you are a juggernaut. Usually, you should be split-pushing, but if you fight, use your W to trap priority targets and your E to send your ghouls/Maiden onto them. Focus on peel and zone control. Your Maiden deals max-HP damage, making you a threat to even the tankiest enemies. You are the wall that the enemy can't climb.
The 'Disrespect' Build
Full Lethality 'Graveyard-Assassin' Yorick. Youmuu's Ghostblade -> Serylda's Grudge -> Collector. With this build, your E-jump from 4 ghouls will literally one-shot a squishy. It's hilarious to see an ADC disappear because you threw some dirt at them. Maximum BM, high-risk.
Power Windows
Level 3 with all abilities and 4 graves is your first massive kill window. Level 6 is your objective-taking spike. Your biggest item spike is reaching Hullbreaker, which makes you and your towers an unkillable nightmare for the enemy team.
Tilt Factor
Type 'You're not invited to the funeral' in all-chat after a successful cage-kill with the Maiden. Spam the 'shovel' emote while taking the enemy inhibitor. The feeling of an entire enemy team having to back because of one Maiden and 4 ghouls is purely tilting.
