The Crit RNG

First Blood Strategy

Start E (Spinning Slash). Build your fury on the first 3 minions, then E onto the enemy and start auto-attacking. With a bit of luck, one or two crits will force them to Flash or die. Level 2 with Q (Bloodlust) gives you the sustain to stay in lane forever and keep the pressure up.

Level 1 crit cheese dictates the lane. 35% crit chance at full fury. Spin on them. Pray to RNGsus. If you crit twice, you win lane.

Tryndamere's Best Skins

'King Tryndamere' is the classic smurf skin—the simplicity and the 'king' vibe are perfect for dominance. 'Nightbringer Tryndamere' offers amazing modern effects. 'High Noon Tryndamere' is the prestigious choice. Avoid 'Demonblade Tryndamere' as it's notoriously clunky for many mains.

'Sultan' for the smooth autos. 'Nightbringer' for the epic rage. 'King' for the tradition. 'Chemtech' for the jank. Tryndamere is simple power—pick the sword that looks heaviest and swing.

'Sultan' and 'Highland' are classic. 'King' is good. 'Nightbringer' is edgy. Sultan has a nice crit animation. Crit visuals matter.

When They Ban Tryndamere

Backup Picks

If Tryndamere is banned, Jax offers a similar 'scaling split-push' profile. Olaf for the pure unstoppable aggression. Fiora for the 1v1 dueling dominance.

If Tryndamere is gone, Olaf is the closest 'too angry to die' alternative. If you want more split-push, Yorick. But nothing replaces the 5-second immortality.

Jax for the scaling. Olaf for the anger. Fiora for the split. Olaf matches the 'Too angry to die' energy.

Best Runes for Tryndamere

Best Runes

Lethal Tempo is the best choice for maximizing your attack speed and reaching those crits faster. Conqueror is an alternative for more sustain. Secondary Resolve with Unyielding and Second Wind to survive the early poke of ranged match-ups.

Tryndamere's Skill Order

Q E W

Max Q first—it's your primary damage and sustain source, giving you free AD based on missing health. Max E second for the lower cooldown on your spin. Max W last as the slow and AD reduction is sufficient with one point.

Mastering Tryndamere's Kit

Q
Bloodlust

Bloodlust. Passive: Tryndamere gains bonus AD based on missing health. Active: Consumes his fury to heal him. Use the passive to win the fight, and the active to survive the aftermath.

W
Mocking Shout

Mocking Shout. Tryndamere reduces the AD of nearby enemies. If an enemy has their back turned, they are also slowed. Perfect for chasing down fleeing carries.

E
Spinning Slash

Spinning Slash. Tryndamere spins through enemies, dealing physical damage. Crits reduce the cooldown. This is your mobility and your damage—master the spin-through-minions for chase.

R
Undying Rage

Undying Rage. Tryndamere becomes immune to death for 5 seconds and gains instant fury. This is what makes him the barbarian king. Use it at the last possible moment.

Tryndamere's Best & Worst Matchups

Vs Nasus Hard

Hard Matchup. His W (Wither) completely shuts down your attack speed. You have to stomp him level 1-5 or you will never be able to move in a 1v1 again.

Vs Fiora Skill

Skill Matchup. It's a battle of who uses their defensive spell (W vs R) better. If you can bait her parry, you can win the duel through raw crits.

Vs Teemo Easy

Easy Matchup (for smurfs). Most Teemos are bad. You can E onto him, wait for the blind, then just walk with him and finish him once it ends. His health pool is tiny.

Ult Timing Ego

WARNING

Stop wasting your R! If you press R at 50% HP, you are a coward and you lose your damage scaling. Wait until the absolute last millisecond. Also, don't forget to use your Q-heal *after* your R ends, not during it. During R, you want the low-health AD bonus from your Q-passive.

Don't press R at 50% HP. Press it at 5% HP. Limit test. If you die with R up, ping your ping. It's the law.

Don't ult at 50% HP. Ult at 1 HP. Trust the limit. If you ult too early, you waste duration. Limit test every game.

When the Duel Is Unwinnable

Dodge if facing heavy 'armor stack' and 'attack speed slow' comps with Rammus, Malphite, or Nasus if your team has no magic damage. They will make you useless. Also dodge into Teemo if you don't know the matchup.

Malphite reduces attack speed. Nasus Wither. Tahm Kench eats you. Against Nasus, bring Cleanse or Phase Rush.

Dodge Malphite/Nasus. Attack speed slows ruin you. You do 0 damage. You can't move. It's hell. Dodge.

Diving the Backline

In teamfights, you are the nightmare. Usually, you want to be split-pushing, but if you have to fight, look for a flank. E onto the ADC, activate W to slow and reduce their AD, and start critting. Use your R to survive the focus fire. Your job is to make the enemy carries run for their lives.

Spin (E) over the wall. W slow. Auto-Auto. They flash? You flash. Tower shot? Press R. Dive complete.

Spin on the ADC. W slow. Auto-Auto-Crit. R when low. Kill them. Spin out. You are a chaotic force. Disrespect their spacing.

The Crit Tryndamere Build

Full AP 'Nuclear Spin' Tryndamere. Nashor's Tooth -> Lich Bane -> Rabadon's Deathcap. With this build, your E deals massive magic damage and your Q heal is enormous. It's a hilarious throwback to a classic meme build that still catches people off guard. High-risk, maximum flex.

Kraken/Ravenous into Navori into IE. 100% Crit is your minimum. Your E cooldown resets on crits—you'll be spinning every 2 seconds. You're a blender with a 'delete' button. Embrace the rage.

Kraken -> Navori -> Infinity Edge. Spin resets on crits. Infinite spins. You move faster than they can flash.

Tryndamere's Power Spikes

Level 1-2 is your strongest 'luck' window. Level 6 is your unconditional diving window. Your biggest item spike is reaching Navori Quickblades or Kraken Slayer, which makes your E-cooldown virtually non-existent during a fight.

Level 1-2 cheese with full fury. Level 6 for the immortality. First item spike. By level 16, your R cooldown is almost nonexistent. You are a constant threat. Never stop pushing.

Level 1 Crit RNG. Level 6 Immortality. 3 Items. You scale well, but you can also win lane off one lucky crit. Pray to RNGesus.

The Undying Rage

Type '?' in all-chat after you crit someone twice level 1. Spam the 'laugh' emote while spinning away over a wall after a 3-man gank fail. The feeling of an enemy ornn hitting you with everything only for you to press R and walk away is purely tilting.

Your R 'Undying Rage' makes you immortal for 5 seconds. Use it at 1 HP. If you use it too early, you're a fool. If too late, you're dead. It's a game of chicken, and you have a giant sword. Crit.
