Champion Stats
Low elo players walk directly into feathers without thinking. They path in straight lines toward Xayah, completely ignoring the 5+ feathers behind them that spell their doom. One press of E (Bladecaller) and they're rooted and dead before they process what happened. They also consistently dive Xayah while her R is available, not realizing that Featherstorm makes her untargetable and completely negates assassination attempts. A smurf baits the Zed ult or Malphite ult, presses R to dodge it, then kills the assassin while they sit on their used cooldowns with no follow-up.
The Auto-Attack Trade
Start Q (Double Daggers). Walk forward and throw Q through both the minion wave and the enemy ADC or support. Your passive leaves feathers behind for 6 seconds, and the Q throws two that pierce everything. At Level 2, take E (Bladecaller). If the enemy walks forward past your feathers, immediately E to recall all feathers through them. Landing 3+ feathers roots them, which leads to a Q > Auto combo for massive damage. The combo is: Q (through enemy) > Auto (place feather behind them) > E (root + damage). Most players don't expect this Level 2 burst from a 'defensive' ADC.
Xayah's Best Skins
'Star Guardian Xayah' is legendary (nice voicelines). 'Arcana' is crisp. 'SSG Xayah' is clean. 'Broken Covenant' is amazing. Always match skins with Rakan if possible.
'Star Guardian' is a legend. 'Broken Covenant' for the dark-elf vibes. 'SSG' for the championship feel. Xayah is about the feathers—pick the one that looks sharpest. Feather-storm! Win.
'Star Guardian' / 'Redeemed'. 'SSG' is clean. 'Arcana' is sharp. Star Guardian has the best voice lines. Match with Rakan for buffs.
When They Ban Xayah
If Xayah is gone, Kai'Sa is the best 'self-peel-ADC' pivot. If you want more feathers, Sivir (richochets). But nothing replaces the 'R-E' outplay. Fly away elsewhere.
Kai'Sa for the self-peel. Nilah for the immunity. Sivir for the shield. Kai'Sa is the aggressive version of Xayah.
Best Runes for Xayah
Lethal Tempo. Presence of Mind, Bloodline, Coup de Grace. Secondary Inspiration (Biscuits/Cosmic) or Sorcery. Hail of Blades is a cheese option for quick roots.
Xayah's Skill Order
Max E first for damage/cooldown. Max W second for damage/move speed. Q last.
Mastering Xayah's Kit
Double Daggers. Throws 2 knives/feathers. Basic setup tool.
Deadly Plumage. Attack Speed + Damage steroid. Grants move speed if you hit a champ. Use for kiting!
Bladecaller. Returns all feathers to Xayah. Deals damage per feather. 3+ feathers = Root.
Featherstorm. Jump into air (Untargetable). Throw storm of feathers. Can move while in air. Use to dodge everything.
Xayah's Best & Worst Matchups
Hard. Outranges you massively. Step on a trap? You die. Farm with Q.
Lover. If against him, you know his kit perfectly. If with him, you are stronger.
Positioning Ego
Stop pressing R for damage! Yes, Featherstorm (R) deals damage and leaves feathers behind, but it is your LIFELINE. Using your ultimate to execute a 10% HP enemy support is a waste of your most important ability unless you have no other option. Save R exclusively to dodge lethal CC or burst—Zed ult, Syndra ult, Malphite ult, etc. Also, count your feathers before pressing E. You need 3 feathers to root. If you only have 2 feathers out and you press E, they don't get rooted and now your E is on cooldown. Be patient, place more feathers, THEN root.
When the Lane Is Unplayable
Dodge Xerath or Vel'Koz. You have short range (525). They poke you to death and you can never reach them or root them.
Xerath and Lux will poke you out. Play for the E-root and stay back. Once you have R, you are safe from their all-ins. Be patient, the bird always wins the long game.
Dodge Caitlyn/Xerath. Range difference is too high. You can't stack feathers if you can't auto. You get poked out and lose.
Positioning Is Everything
In teamfights, kite back. Activate W for attack speed. throw autos. Use Q to place feathers. When they dive you, R backwards. Then E to pull all feathers through them. Massive AOE root + damage. You shred tanks and assassins alike.
Kite, kite, kite. Place those feathers in a line. When they jump you, R-E. It's the most satisfying 'no' in the game. You're the queen of self-peel. Don't touch the bird.
Kite back. Q-Auto-E. Root them. R when they dive. E again. Xayah says 'No' to assassins. Make them regret jumping on you.
The Crit Build
Lethality Xayah (Eclipse/Collector). Q-E poke style. Good against squishies, bad against tanks. Smurfs use it to one-shot people from 1000 range.
Navori and Kraken. You want the cooldown reduction to spam your E 'Bladecaller'. The more feathers you have, the bigger the root. You're an AOE goddess. Shred them to pieces. Fly.
Kraken -> Navori -> IE. Navori cooldown reduction means more E roots. More feathers. More damage. It's a blender.
Xayah's Power Spikes
Level 6. Navori Quickblades completion (Permament E uptime). 3 Items.
Level 3 all-in with E root. Galeforce/Navori completion. 3 items with 100% crit chance (if building crit).
Level 6 Invulnerability. Navori Spike. 3 Items. Late game you are untouchable if you have R. Bait their cooldowns.
The Kiting Masterclass
Recall with Rakan (it's synchronized). Taunting enemies after dodging their ult with yours. 'Try again honey' attitude.
