Champion Stats
Low elo players never respect the range of Camille's Hookshot (E) or the timing of her Precision Protocol (Q2). You can engage from a screen away, land a massive true damage strike, and walk away behind your passive shield before they can even trade back. They also struggle to play around her R, often wasting high-value ultimates while trapped in her zone.
The Hookshot Trade
Start W (Tactical Sweep) for poke and healing, or Q (Precision Protocol) if you can land a trade. At level 1, your passive shield gives you a massive advantage in any auto-attack duel. If invading, start E for the long-range stun and gap close.
Wait for your passive shield to be up before you E in. Trading without the shield is a waste of HP. Your W is for the heal—don't use it for damage unless you're catching them. Long-range E is for the engage, short-range E is for the stun.
Ranking Camille's Skins
'IG Camille' is the definitive smurf skin—the animations are sharp and the wings on the E are iconic. 'Coven Camille' is a masterpiece of visual design and sound. 'Program Camille' offers very clear audio cues for her Q2. Avoid 'Arcana Camille' if you prefer traditional blade aesthetics, though it is visually stunning.
'IG' is the only choice if you want to look like a pro. 'Coven' is for the style. 'Program' has the best Q2 audio cue—that 'bing' sound is vital for timing your true damage. Avoid 'Arcana'—it looks like a mess in high-speed fights.
When They Ban Camille
Fiora has the same 1v1 ego. Irelia has the mobility. If you pick Gwen, remember you're now an AP threat. Most Camille mains hate playing against Jax—don't be the guy who picks him just to realize you can't play him.
Fiora offers similar 1v1 dominance and true damage. Irelia provides high mobility and backline dive potential. Gwen brings AP true damage scaling. Fiora is the closest 'duelist' feel.
Camille's Keystone Choice
Grasp of the Undying is the standard for lane dominance and scaling HP. Conqueror is the alternative for extended dueling against other bruisers. Secondary Inspiration with Magical Footwear and Cosmic Insight to reach your core items faster.
Skill Max Order for Camille
Max Q first—it's your primary damage and the cooldown reduction is vital. Max E second for the mobility and attack speed bonus. Max W last as it's primarily a utility/poke tool.
Mastering Camille's Kit
Precision Protocol. Your next two attacks deal bonus damage. Wait for the true damage proc on the second hit (the sound and visual change). It resets your auto-attack timer.
Tactical Sweep. You kick in a cone, slowing and damaging enemies hit by the outer half while healing yourself. Use this to poke and sustain in lane.
Hookshot/Wall Dive. Fire a hook to a wall, then dash from it. You can Flash during the second dash to extend the range or change direction. It stuns and gives attack speed.
The Hextech Ultimatum. You leap onto a target, creating a zone they cannot leave. It deals bonus magic damage on your attacks. Use this to interrupt key enemy spells.
The Camille Matchup Sheet
Easy Matchup. Your passive shield blocks his Q silence damage, and you can kite him with W. Don't let him iterate on you with E for too long. Save R for when he tries to run.
Skill Matchup. You win short trades with your passive. Never take a long fight or he will stack his passive and kill you. Use E to disengage if he pulls you.
Hard Counter. He is the king of 1v1. His Counter Strike completely invalidates your damage. Try to bait it out before committing to a full trade, or just focus on roaming.
Hextech Ult Greed
Stop missing your Hookshot! If you miss the second part of your E, you lose your stun and a massive attack speed steroid. Also, don't just Q1 and Q2 immediately—wait for the true damage proc on Q2. Patience is the difference between a good Camille and a great one.
Your Ult knocks back other enemies. Use it to split the enemy team during a choke-point fight. You can effectively isolate the ADC and force their team to walk around your cage while you're deleting their carry.
When You Can't Win the Side Lane
Dodge if facing Jax—his E blocks your Q damage and he out-scales you in the 1v1. Also dodge into heavy anti-dive comps with Poppy or Vex who can cancel your Hookshot.
Jax is your permaban. His E blocks your Q2, which is 80% of your damage. Poppy is also a nightmare—she'll W your hookshot every time. If you're against them, roam mid and help your jungler. You aren't winning the 1v1.
Dodge if facing Jax—his E blocks your Q damage and he out-scales you in the 1v1. Also dodge into heavy anti-dive comps with Poppy or Vex who can cancel your Hookshot mid-air.
The Frontline Brawl
In teamfights, your job is to dive the enemy backline. Use E-E to reach the ADC, then R to lock them down. Once they are isolated, use your Q-resets and W-slow to finish them off. Your passive shield will help you survive the initial burst.
E off a wall, stun the carry, Ult, and delete. Then use your Q move speed to get out. You are a scalpel, not a hammer. If you're in the middle of five people for more than 3 seconds, you've made a mistake.
The True Damage Build
Full Attack Speed/On-hit Camille. Trinity Force -> Ravenous Hydra -> Blade of the Ruined King. With this build, you become a split-pushing god who can melt towers and duel anyone 1v1. Just watch out for heavy CC.
Trinity is mandatory. The sheen procs on your Q2 are what make Camille terrifying. Ravenous Hydra for the waveclear and sustain. If you're tanky enough, go for Death's Dance. Avoid building pure tank—you need the AD to scale.
Trinity Force -> Ravenous Hydra -> Blade of the Ruined King. With this build, you become a split-pushing god who can melt towers and duel anyone. Trinity Force is non-negotiable.
When Camille Comes Online
Level 6 is your first big spike—the lockdown from your R is an almost guaranteed kill with jungle assistance. Your biggest item spike is Trinity Force (or Divine Sunderer if it were still here, but we roll with Trinity/Ravenous), giving you the burst and sustain to dominate the mid-game.
Level 11 with Trinity and Tiamat is your 'raid boss' entry. Your Q2 starts doing 600+ true damage. At 3 items, you can one-shot most ADCs. Don't waste your mid-game power by playing too passive.
The Hextech Lockdown
Use the 'Precision' emote every time you land a max-range E-Flash. Type 'Calculated' in all-chat after an R-kill. The surgical nature of Camille's kit is perfect for tilting opponents who feel they can't even touch you.
Pinging the true damage on your Q2 after a kill is peak Camille BM. It reminds them that armor is a suggestion to you. Type 'refined' in all-chat for the extra classy tilt.
