Xayah in ARAM is all about feather control. Drop them everywhere, root the entire enemy team, and watch them panic. She's got self-peel with her ult, insane AoE damage when you land a good E, and scales hard into late game. The key is positioning your feathers so you can pull off those game-winning roots.

How to Play Xayah in ARAM
Xayah's entire kit revolves around feather placement. Every auto and Q drops feathers behind the target. Your E pulls all feathers back to you, damaging and rooting anyone hit by 3+ feathers.
Feather Combos:
- Basic Poke: Q through minions → auto a few times → E to pull feathers back
- Root Setup: Auto → Auto → Q → Auto → E (guaranteed root if they don't dodge)
- Teamfight Nuke: R (drops 5 feathers) → Auto → Auto → Q → E (massive AoE root)
Your ult makes you untargetable for 1.5 seconds and drops 5 feathers in a line. Use it to dodge key abilities (Malphite ult, Zed ult, Syndra stun) and then follow up with E for a guaranteed root.
Feathers always land BEHIND your target. If you're fighting in a narrow choke, position yourself so feathers spread across the entire width. When you E, you'll root the entire enemy team. This is how you win fights.
ARAM-Specific Tips
Positioning is everything. You're immobile outside of your ult. Stay behind your frontline, drop feathers constantly, and only E when you can hit multiple people or secure a kill.
Use bushes. Drop feathers in the bush, walk out, then E. Enemies can't see the feathers coming and will walk right into the root.
Ult defensively first. Don't blow your ult for damage early. Save it to dodge the enemy's engage tool (Malphite R, Amumu R, etc.). Once their big cooldown is down, you're free to DPS.
Poke with Q. Your Q has 1100 range and passes through units. Use it to poke from safety before fights start. Even if you don't follow up with E, you're chunking them for free.
Kite backwards. When enemies dive you, auto while walking backwards. You'll leave a trail of feathers between you and them. When they're on top of you, E and root them, then keep autoing.
Xayah's Worst Matchups in ARAM
- Assassins with untargetability — Fizz, Zed, Master Yi. They can dodge your E or wait out your ult.
- Long-range poke — Xerath, Ziggs, Vel'Koz. They outrange you and chunk you before fights start.
- Hard engage tanks — Malphite, Amumu. If they flash-ult you before you can react, you're dead.
