Worlds 2026 runs from October 15 to November 14, with Play-Ins in Los Angeles, Swiss and most Knockouts in Allen, Texas, and the final in Brooklyn. If you are watching from Australia, that final starts at 5 AM Brisbane time on Sunday, November 15. The event is played on Patch 26.20, which is already live.
No bracket yet. The Play-In draw is on October 10, and nobody has played a Worlds series. Check Riot's official Worlds 2026 primer for schedule changes. Our Worlds event hub has the stage timeline.
Worlds 2026 schedule at a glance
US venue dates and Brisbane starts are fixed below. The smaller line under each start time uses your device's timezone.
| Stage | Local US dates | Venue | Brisbane start time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Play-Ins | Oct 15-18 | Los Angeles | 4 AM the following day, Oct 16-19 |
| Swiss, first block | Oct 23-26 | Allen, Texas | 3 AM the following day, Oct 24-27 |
| Swiss, second block | Oct 28-30 | Allen, Texas | 6 AM the following day, Oct 29-31 |
| Swiss, final day | Oct 31 | Allen, Texas | 3 AM Sunday, Nov 1 |
| Quarterfinals | Nov 3-6 | Allen, Texas | 8 AM the following day, Nov 4-7 |
| Semifinals | Nov 7-8 | Allen, Texas | 8 AM the following day, Nov 8-9 |
| Grand Final | Nov 14 | Brooklyn, New York | 5 AM Sunday, Nov 15 |
Those are broadcast start times, not promises that every series begins exactly then. The US changes from daylight saving time during the tournament. Brisbane does not, which is why the stage-to-stage conversion shifts. Riot's event schedule is the source if a broadcast is moved.
Watching from Brisbane? The final is Sunday morning here, even though Riot lists it as Saturday afternoon in New York. Set the calendar entry for November 15, 5 AM AEST.
Worlds 2026 format: no group stage this year
Forget a traditional group stage. Worlds 2026 has Play-Ins, Swiss and Knockouts. If you saw September dates in an older listing, those were placeholders. The event hub now has Riot's October and November dates.
Play-In Stage: October 15-18
Four teams play a best-of-five double-elimination bracket in Los Angeles. One team advances to Swiss. The field is Karmine Corp, Cloud9, MVK Esports and Brazil's second seed. The CBLOL final decides Brazil's seed order, so do not lock in that last Play-In name or any opening matchup yet.
The Play-In draw takes place after the CBLOL final on October 10. It is fully random, so no matchup is locked at the time this guide was written. Losing once does not send a team home; losing twice does. The format leaves room for a recovery series, which is why that last qualifying place can be much harder to predict than a one-off opener.
Swiss Stage: October 23-31
The Swiss Stage starts with 16 teams: 15 direct entrants and the Play-In winner. A team advances to the eight-team Knockout Stage when it reaches three match wins. Three losses eliminate it. That means your first draw matters, but it does not decide the whole event.
Riot seeds the opening round into four draw tiers. Tier 1 faces Tier 4, and Tier 2 faces Tier 3. Teams from the same region cannot face each other in round one. From round two, teams with the same record are drawn against each other. Repeat matchups are blocked, while same-region matches can happen. The first Swiss draw follows Play-Ins on October 18; later round draws happen as Swiss progresses.
Swiss includes best-of-one and best-of-three matches. A best-of-one upset can make the standings look wild for a day; elimination and advancement matches are where you find out whether a team's draft and adaptation actually hold up. If you only have time for a few broadcasts from Australia, those qualification series are the ones to circle.
Knockout Stage: November 3-14
Eight teams reach the single-elimination, best-of-five bracket. Quarterfinals run November 3-6, semifinals November 7-8, and the Grand Final is November 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Allen hosts every Knockout series before the final.
The quarterfinal draw happens after Swiss on October 31. Riot pairs the two 3-0 Swiss teams against two of the 3-2 teams, then draws the remaining four teams into the other quarterfinals. The 3-0 run is therefore useful, but it does not hand anyone the trophy. Once Knockouts start, one lost series ends your Worlds.
Worlds 2026 qualified teams
The official team list has 19 qualified slots across six regions. Most of the names are settled. Brazil's first and second seeds are still assigned after the October 10 CBLOL final.
| Region | Qualified teams |
|---|---|
| LPL, China | Anyone's Legend, Bilibili Gaming, TOP Esports, Shanghai Invictus Gaming Meituan |
| LCK, Korea | Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, T1, Dplus Kia |
| LEC, EMEA | G2 Esports, Movistar KOI, Karmine Corp |
| LCS, North America | Team Liquid Alienware, LYON, Cloud9 Kia |
| LCP, Asia Pacific | Team Secret Whales, CTBC Flying Oyster, MVK Esports |
| CBLOL, Brazil | LOS, FURIA (seed order pending October 10) |
If you watch from OCE, keep an eye on the LCP teams. Team Secret Whales and CFO start in Swiss; MVK has to fight through Play-Ins first. Watch the draw before deciding whether any of them got a soft route.
There are no locked matchups yet. A bracket with opponents or scores right now would be made up. If you want to see what a finished tournament run looks like, the MSI 2026 recap has every result.
If you want to follow a specific team, wait for the draw before planning which morning to watch. Karmine Corp, Cloud9, MVK and Brazil's second seed know they are in Play-Ins, but they do not know their opening opponents yet. The other 15 teams have a Swiss place, not a guaranteed bracket path. Riot's round-one draw tiers keep the first round structured, then the shared-record draws can put regional rivals together. Use the official LoL Esports schedule for confirmed match pairings as the draws happen.
Worlds 2026 Pick'Ems deadlines
Pick'Ems and Crystal Ball return through LoL Esports Pick'Ems and the League client. Riot says Crystal Ball and Play-In picks open October 10 at 4 PM PDT, which is 9 AM Sunday, October 11 in Brisbane. Play-In picks lock before the first match on October 15, or before the 4 AM Brisbane broadcast on October 16.
- October 18: Swiss picks open after the Play-In Stage.
- October 23: Swiss picks lock before the first match (3 AM October 24 in Brisbane).
- October 31: Knockout picks open after Swiss.
- November 3: Knockout picks lock before the first quarterfinal (8 AM November 4 in Brisbane).
- November 14: The final ends, scores settle and Riot aims to distribute rewards within 48 hours.
The common trap is assuming "October 15" means you can wake up on October 15 Australian time and still have all day. It is a Los Angeles date. Make the pick before you go to bed on the 15th if you do not fancy a 3:50 AM alarm. Riot also lists eligibility exceptions and regional reward rules in its primer, so check those before counting on a prize.
The Worlds 2026 patch and the solo queue meta
Worlds 2026 is being played on 26.20. Riot's patch notes call it the competitive patch for the tournament. Ambessa, Ashe, K'Sante, Cassiopeia and Yunara take nerfs; Kindred, Lillia, Kennen and several others get help. Rocketbelt, Experimental Hexplate and Runaan's Hurricane change too.
That does not make the pro tier list your ranked tier list. A team can draft Ashe for initiation and vision even if her damage is lower. A champion such as Kindred needs the right setup and still has to survive an ordinary ranked jungle game. In the first Emerald+ scrape after 26.20, Kindred jungle is D at 49.93% while Lillia jungle is A at 52.69%. Yunara bot dropped to B at 50.09%. Those are early numbers, and they can move as the patch matures. The live tier list is the place to check later.
If you are watching Worlds to steal picks, copy the useful bits: clear routes, matchup plans, objective setup and item timing. Copying a blind pick from a five-player draft into solo queue without the team around it is how you turn a good broadcast into a bad LP session. Check the matchup tool when a lane counter catches your eye, and use the MMR checker to see where your own games stand.
Worlds 2026 viewing and in-game extras
Riot's official LoL Esports site is the safest starting point for live streams, matchups and Pick'Ems. Play-In games are in Los Angeles. Swiss, quarterfinals and semifinals move to the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen. The final is at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. If you are attending, check Riot's venue policies, especially the different bag and re-entry rules for Texas and New York.
Worlds Fan Fest is planned for Pier 36 in Manhattan, November 12-14. Riot has also announced a Worlds skin and pass lineup, team icons and regional emotes. The featured skin is True Damage Know My Name Yasuo. The Season 3 Worlds pass and related offers have their own rollout, so use the official primer for the current shop timing rather than assuming every item arrives with the first Play-In match.
