Patch 26.4 Update: Naafiri received changes this patch. Check the full patch 26.4 notes for details.
Low elo players constantly overextend without vision, which is exactly what Naafiri punishes. Her Ultimate (The Call of the Pack) grants vision and massive movement speed, allowing you to collapse on rotaters before they can retreat. Furthermore, low elo players ignore the Packmates. Your hounds block key skillshots (like Ezreal Q or Ahri Charm) for you, making you deceptively tanky into poke comps.
The Pack Strike
The 'Bleed' Trade. Start Q (Darkin Daggers). Poke with Q1. If it hits, wait a second, then throw Q2. If Q2 hits a bleeding target, it deals bonus damage and HEALS you. If you land both Qs, the Packmates jump in for extra damage. This simple combo can force an enemy out of lane at Level 1.
Your Q daggers deal bleed. If you hit Q2 on a bleeding target, it heals you. In a 1v1, wait for the Q1 bleed to tick twice before hitting Q2 to maximize the damage and the health back. It's a thinking man's dog.
The Naafiri Skin Tier List
'Soul Fighter Naafiri' is the launch skin. Crisp visual effects. 'Project' takes advantage of hound models.
'Soul Fighter' has the cleanest Q visuals. The daggers are bright and easy for you to track, ensuring you never miss the Q2 execute. Use the clarity to your advantage.
'Soul Fighter' is sharp and has great audio cues for Q hits. 'PROJECT' is futuristic. Soul Fighter feels more 'visceral' which helps with the reset timing.
When They Ban Naafiri
Talon if you want the roam and bleed. Zed if you want the AD burst. Vex if you want to punish the mobility of the other team. Naafiri is the hunter—if she's gone, be the shadow or the anti-meta.
Talon for the parkour roaming. Zed for the shadow outplays. Vex for the anti-dash. Talon matches the 'shove and run bot' playstyle best.
Runes That Work on Naafiri
Electrocute (Burst) or First Strike (Scaling/Gold) or Comet (Poke). Comet Naafiri is annoyingly strong in lane. Secondary Precision (Presence of Mind).
Leveling Naafiri's Abilities
Max Q for the double-hit damage. Max E second for waveclear/dash. W last.
Mastering Naafiri's Kit
Darkin Daggers. Throws dagger (bleed). Recast. If bleeding, deals bonus damage + heal + execute. Packmates jump to target.
Hounds' Pursuit. Channel -> Dash to enemy (blocked by champs). Packmates dash with you.
Eviscerate. Short dash. AOE damage. Recalls packmates to you and heals them to full.
The Call of the Pack. Spawns more packmates. Move speed. Vision. Shield (on first hit). Reset on takedown.
Matchups That Matter for Naafiri
IMPOSSIBLE. Dodge.
Easy. Your packmates eat his voidlings. Your Q breaks spellshield.
Skill. His windwall blocks Q. W goes through? (No, W is body slam). Wait for windwall down.
Pack Mismanagement
Stop W-ing into traffic! Hounds' Pursuit (W) channels and dashes in a straight line. It stops at the FIRST champion hit. If the enemy Tank stands in front of the ADC, you will dash into the tank and die. You need to flank. Also, Land. Your. Q. If you miss Q, you lose your heal and execute damage. You are useless without it.
Stop W-ing blindly! The channel is long and the dash is a straight line. If their tank blocks you, you're dead. Flank from the side. Also, your E is as much about repositioning as damage—use it to jump walls or dodge skillshots.
When the Burst Isn't Enough
Dodge Irelia. She uses your packmates as Q reset fodder to heal and stack passive. You literally buff her by existing.
Irelia is your biggest counter. Your packmates are just free Q-resets for her. If you see an Irelia, don't pick Naafiri. If you're already in game, bait her E before you commit any hounds. Otherwise, roam to other lanes.
Dodge Irelia. She heals off your packmates. You actually help her kill you. It's unplayable. Dodge Rammus (taunt kills you).
Finding the Backline
In teamfights, R early for the shield/vision. Flank. W onto the squishy. Auto -> Q -> E (Dash/AOE) -> Q2. Your packmates will swarm them. E over a wall to escape or chase. Use the R shield to survive burst.
Use R early for the shield and move speed. Look for the flank. W onto the squishy, Auto-Q-E-Q2. The packmates will do 40% of the damage for you. Execute and leave. You're a pack-leader—don't fight fair.
Ult early for vision/shield. Flank. W onto the Carry. Q-E-Q2. The pack does the rest. If you get a kill, E to the next target instantly. Speed is your defense.
The Lethality Pack Build
Eclipse -> Black Cleaver -> Serylda's. The % Pen + Packmate damage shreds even tanks. You aren't just an assassin; you are a bruiser hunter.
Eclipse is your core for the shield and AD. Black Cleaver is great because your hounds proc the stacks instantly for your whole team. Serylda's to make sure they can never outrun the pack. You're the bruiser-hunter.
Eclipse -> Profane Hydra -> Edge of Night. Eclipse shields are massive with your pack. Hydra guarantees the waveclear to roam. Serylda's helps the pack stick to targets.
Naafiri's Strongest Moments
Level 6 (R Pack spawn). Eclipse completion. Mid-game skirmishes.
Level 6 with the extra hounds is your first major kill window. Eclipse completion is the 1v1 spike. Mid-game when you can one-shot anyone in a rotate is your peak. End it before they buy Zhonya's or GA.
Level 6 Pack Spawn. Eclipse Spike. 2-Item Roaming phase. You fall off when ADCs get GA, so end the game by terrorizing the side lanes early.
The Dog Pile
Spamming the 'Pet the Dog' emote (ctrl 1/2/3). Barking in chat. Running them down across the entire map with R speed.
Spam the 'pet the dog' emote. Bark in the chat after a triple kill. Naafiri is the ultimate high-pressure assassin—let them hear the hounds coming. Once the pack starts running, the game is over.
Spam 'Pet the Dog' (Ctrl+1). Bark in all-chat. Running down a fleeing enemy with R speed feels like a nature documentary. Hunt them.
