The 'Super Minion' Global Spawn: How to End Games in Season 16
If you've played a game that lasted longer than 25 minutes in Season 16, you've probably noticed something terrifying. ...

Season 16 is finally here, and if you've played even one game on the new patch, you know exactly what I'm about to say: Role Quests are broken.
Like, genuinely, I haven't seen a mechanic shift the game this hard since they added Elemental Drakes in Season 6. It's not just a "nice to have" buff. It is the win condition.
If you haven't read the 40-page patch notes manifesto (and I don't blame you, I skimmed it too), here is the TL;DR: Every role now gets a unique quest at 0:00. Completing it gives you a permanent stat buff or ability upgrade that basically counts as half an item.
The problem? Most players in Silver and Gold are treating it like a side objective. They're farming peacefully, ignoring the quest, and then wondering why the enemy Mid laner suddenly has 20% more Magic Pen than them at 12 minutes.
I've spent the last week grinding PBE and Live servers on high-ELO accounts, and I've figured out the cheese. Here is the definitive guide on how to complete your Role Quest before everyone else and snowball the game out of control.
Forget scaling. Forget playing safe. In Season 16, Interaction is King.
The quests are designed to force you to fight. If you pick a champion that wants to AFK farm for 20 minutes (looking at you, Nasus players), you are griefing your team. You will fall behind the curve, and by the time you're strong, the game is over.
Here is how to abuse each role.
How to Cheese It: Stop picking tanks. Tanks take too long to trade. You want Darius, Sett, or Renekton. Your goal is to invade at Level 1. Literally, walk into the bush, wait for them, and start punching. You don't even need to kill them. Every auto-attack counts towards the 3000 damage goal.
I had a game yesterday where I played Darius, forced a Level 1 all-in, died, teleported back, and fought again immediately. I was 0/2, but I finished my quest at 7 minutes. The enemy Kayle was 2/0 but had 0 quest progress. Once I hit that Level 20 cap later, I just ran her down. It wasn't even close.
How to Cheese It: Blue Kayn and Graves. That's it. That's the list. You cannot play passive junglers like Sejuani or Amumu anymore. If you aren't invading, you're losing. Your pathing should be: Red -> Enemy Raptors -> Enemy Krugs. Ignore your own jungle. Live in theirs. Every camp you steal counts towards the "Invade 20 camps" goal. If you do this right, you finish the quest by 12 minutes and the enemy jungler is level 4 and crying in all-chat.
How to Cheese It: This is why Katarina and Talon are S-tier right now. Poking with Xerath to hit 50 skillshots takes too long (and let's be real, you miss half of them). The roam strategy is faster. Shove wave -> Run Bot -> Double Kill. Do that twice, maybe get an assist on the jungler, and you're done. A completed quest Katarina with Gunblade (yes, it's back) and Tier 3 boots is unstoppable.
How to Cheese It: Draven. Draven's passive counts towards the "Gold from Takedowns" requirement. One kill with a stacked passive can give you 600-700 gold instantly, completing almost 70% of that requirement in one button press. If you can't play Draven, play Caitlyn and abuse plate money. Towers are money piñatas in Season 16. Hit them.
How to Cheese It: Pyke or Senna with Umbral Glaive. Rush Umbral Glaive first item. Walk into the enemy jungle with your sweeper. You can clear 3-4 wards in one pass. It counts towards the "Destroy 10 Wards" goal. I've finished this quest in 11 minutes by just being annoying with vision control.
This system is going to get nerfed. It has to. The snowball potential is too high.
Right now, if one team completes 3 quests and the other team completes 0, the game is functionally over at 15 minutes. The stat check is too massive.
But until Riot fixes it (probably patch 16.3), you need to be the one abusing it. Don't be the victim. Be the one completing the quest.
I'm going to be honest with you: trying these aggressive strategies for the first time on your main account is a recipe for disaster. You will int. You will miss your timings. You will get flamed.
The smart play? Grab a Level 30 Smurf Account.
Practice the "Level 1 Darius Invade" or the "Kayn Perma-Invade" on a fresh account where the stakes are low. Learn the limits. Once you master the quest timings, switch back to your main account and collect your free LP.
