Why High-Elo Players Smurf with Mordekaiser

Low elo players don't understand that Mordekaiser's R removes ALL external buffs and shields. They think their Lulu ult or Barrier will save them—it won't. Indestructible stores damage you take as gray health. Recast to consume it for a shield OR hold it and it heals you over time. Use the shield for burst mitigation, or let it heal you if you're disengaging.

E Death's Grasp

Death's Grasp pulls enemies toward you. It has a small delay before activation. Combo with Q—E pulls them into your isolated Q zone. It also grants magic penetration passively.

R Realm of Death

Realm of Death isolates one enemy for 7 seconds. During this time, you steal 10% of their core stats. If they die, you keep those stats until THEY respawn. Removing external buffs (like Lulu R, Yuumi attachment, Skarner R target) is a huge hidden power.

Matchup Tips

Vs Darius

Skill Matchup. His bleed hurts. Short trades with Q, disengage before 5 stacks. Post-6, ult him before he hits 5 stacks. His R is physical—you scale armor anyway.

Vs Garen

Easy Lane. Q him whenever he walks up. Dodge his Q silence with E-pull. Never let him heal with passive—poke constantly.

Vs Riven

Hard Counter. She has 4 dashes. You have 0. She kites you forever. In Death Realm, she somehow still kites you. Pray for late game.

The Ego Check

WARNING: Stop using R on the tank. Your ult is for REMOVING threats from the fight. If you ult Leona, you've removed... nothing. Ult the fed carry. Ult the Yuumi-attached ADC (Yuumi gets detached and can't follow you). Also, stop using W to heal when you have no gray HP stored. You only heal from STORED damage—if the bar is empty, W does nothing.

When to Queue Dodge

Dodge if facing Fiora or Vayne. Fiora parries your ult and you lose the stat-steal potential. Vayne shreds through your HP and kites you indefinitely. Tryndamere is brutal because he R's through your death realm timer and kills you instead.

Teamfight Role

Wait for the fight to start. Identify the biggest threat on the enemy team (fed ADC, hypercarry, or the enchanter protecting them). R them. Kill them. Exit Death Realm with their stolen stats. Now you're stronger while they respawn. You've turned the 5v5 into a 5v4.

The 'Disrespect' Build

Riftmaker -> Cosmic Drive -> Rylai's. Maximum chase-down build. Your passive permanently slows with Rylai's, and Cosmic Drive makes you impossible to escape. Nobody can outrun you. Add Dead Man's Plate for full zoom.

Power Windows

Level 6 is your greatest spike. Before this, you lose fights to many duelists. After this, you win every 1v1 because you stat-check them in an isolated arena. First item completion (Riftmaker) gives you sustain to survive extended fights. Two items is when you become unkillable.

Tilt Factor

Ult the enemy carry in the middle of their team. Their team watches helplessly while you kill their ADC in another dimension. Walk out with +10% of their stats. All-chat 'gg ez' after every R kill. Spam your dance while the enemy tries to escape your passive.
