Aurora is the Witch of the Between, a mobile skirmisher who specializes in hit-and-run tactics and confusing enemies with stealth. She weaves in and out of the Spirit Realm, using her Spirit Mode (W) to reset fights and her Between Worlds (R) to trap entire teams in a domain of her choosing. For a smurf, Aurora is uncatchable. You hop over walls, burst a carry, stealth away, and then hop back in to finish the job before they can target you.

Why High-Elo Players Smurf with Aurora

Low elo players struggle immensely with object permanence. Aurora's playstyle of constantly disappearing and reappearing breaks their brains. They will throw all their abilities at your clone or ghost, while you are flanking from the side. Her Ultimate is also a 'checkmate' button against immobile carries; if you catch a Jhin or Xerath in your R, they have nowhere to run and are forced to fight you in close quarters, which you win.

The 'Q-Auto-Q' Trade. Start Q (Twofold Hex). Cast Q1 to mark the enemy and deal damage. Walk up or wait for them to walk up. Auto-attack them, then Recast Q (Q2) to pull the spirit back. This triggers your passive (3 hits), dealing massive % Max HP magic damage and giving you a burst of movement speed to disengage. It is one of the strongest Level 1 trading patterns in the mid lane.

Rune Setup

Best Runes: Electrocute for burst trades in lane. You want to Q1-E-Q2-Auto to proc it instantly and run away with passive speed. Secondary Sorcery for Manaflow Band. Alternatively, Phase Rush if you are against a heavy slow comp (Nasus/Zilean) to ensure you can always kite.

Skill Priority

Order:

Q → E → WQ is your main damage source. E provides the slow and repositioning. W is your stealth/reset tool; max it last as the utility is front-loaded.

Mastering Aurora's Kit

Q Twofold Hex

Two-part cast. Q1 marks, Q2 calls it back. Passing the callback through enemies executes minions. Use Q1 to check bushes.

W Across the Veil

Invisibility + Dash. Taking damage DOES NOT break the stealth immediately, but revealing yourself does. Use it to reset aggro during tower dives.

E The Weirding

Backwards jump + Slow. Use it offensively by aiming BACKWARDS to fling yourself FORWARDS.

R Between Worlds

The Realm. You can teleport between the edges. Walk into the wall to appear on the opposite side. Use this to dodge skillshots infinitely inside the zone.

Matchup Tips

Vs Syndra

Hard Lane. She outranges you. You have to bait her E before you can engage.

Vs Yasuo

Skill Matchup. You can hop out of his tornado range, but his wall blocks your Q. Don't fight him in the minion wave.

Vs Zed

Skill Matchup. Use R when he Ults you. You can hop walls to wait out his Death Mark duration.

The Ego Check

WARNING: Stop leaving your Ult zone! Between Worlds (R) only works if YOU are inside it or on the edge. If you panic and run away from your own ultimate, it breaks, freeing the enemies. You have to commit to the cage match. Use your hops to teleport from one side of the circle to the other to dodge damage, but stay in the ring. Also, don't W forward blindly to engage; save it to dodge the counter-engage.

When to Queue Dodge

Dodge Kassadin. He blinks out of your Ult and takes no magic damage. Dodge Irelia. She dashes onto you inside your Ult and you cannot escape her auto-attacks.

Teamfight Role

Flank. Use W to get close undetected. R onto the backline, trapping their ADC and Support. Burst the ADC, then use the R edge wrapping mechanics to teleport to the other side of the circle, confusing the Support. You excel in chaotic, spread-out fights.

The 'Disrespect' Build

Lich Bane + Shadowflame. Since you weave autos, Lich Bane adds massive burst. Shadowflame ensures low HP targets die to your passive burn. This build one-shots squishies without needing your full Ultimate duration.

Power Windows

Level 6. Your roam to bot lane with R is a guaranteed double kill. Trapping immobile ADCs (Ashe, Jhin) is free gold. Also 2-items (Luden's + Lich Bane).

Tilt Factor

Spam W just to disappear and reappear in random bushes. It makes them paranoid. When you trap them in R, stand just outside their range and emote before killing them. It's cruel but effective.
